Oktoberfest beer picks
It's not really an Oktoberfest beer, but since it seems Oktoberfest is the time American liquor stores carry it, I have to say that I really like Spaten's Optimator.

Freezer jam w/ homemade pectin
Powdered pectin you buy at the store generally has instructions for making freezer jam. I kind of want to make my own pectin, though, and I'm not sure how to substitute liquid pectin for powdered.... anyone have any experience here?

Omni Parker House?
It's a fun place to stay (with a lot of cool history), but I wouldn't really recommend their Boston creme pie--overpriced and kind of bland.
