Marshide Mama's - you can get to daufuskie only by boat and if you don't have one you can go using the Daufuskie Island's Resort boat which you get off of Squire Pope Road past Hudson's - it is a long - 45 minute ride but nice to sit outside - boats leave every two hours and come back every two hours - call the resort for details - you can make a day of it - it is a long way to go for just dinner - Marshide's itself has great food and is really fun - you will meet all walks of life there and to say it's casual is a huge understatement - Beth makes great gumbo, ribs, shrimp and grits, always has a fresh fish special - call ahead for reservations cause it gets crowded - it is a tshirt, bathing suit , sandals place all the way - great sunset too Dye's was just written up in the island packet - check it out online Bluffton Oyster Company is right on the May River and in season is an actual oyster factory, they clean them right there - this time of year you can get local shrimp, crab, flounder - they will tell you what is local and you can believe them - bring an empty cooler and load up for your stay |

Those recommendations were awful except for Guiseppe's: Sticky Fingers? There is no good BBQ on Hilton Head Here is my list: Seafood - Buy fresh stuff at Bluffton Oyster Company on the way in - downtown Bluffton on the docks or Sea Shack, Hudson's Oyster Bar is OK also - stay away from the fried stuff and stick to shrimp and oysters in season |
