Why does Trader Joe's pasta taste sweet? [moved from General Chowhounding board]
Yes! I noticed this too! I made a batch of American Chop Suey with TJs pasta. I thought the meat I used was bad and couldn't eat hambuger for months after. I later realized that it was the pasta. I have stopped buying it because I think the sweet-ish flavor is horrible. YUCK!
The Cape with a Kid
We took our 2.5 year old and our 1 year old to the Wicked Oyster in Wellfleet last weekend for breakfast. We went 2 days in a row- both Saturday and Sunday am. We were there fairly early on both days so it was not very crowded yet. The small early breakfast crowd that was there did not mind our kids as they were there with their own kids too. The food was great, the service was great and kid friendly. Dining on the enclosed front porch was awesome. I recommend.

I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, tots for my 2 yr. old and a drink. The burger was horrid and due to some burger slop that fell on the car floor, my car reeked for days. Fries were horrid. My son seemed to enjoy the tots but he's 2....The drink, cherry limeade, was good. But not good enough for me to ever go back. YUCK! Give me 5 Guys any day.

Verrill Farm Opens New Stand Today
I was disappointed too. The building is gigantic but they are only using about 1/3 of it for the store. Same old products, nothing new. I agree, not a destination.

Verrill Farm in Concord makes a great brownie. Dense and fudgy with an almost crispy top.

Went to 5 Guys for the first time last week in upstate NY. I got a little cheeseburger w/ketchup and pickles and a small fry. Cost about six bucks. I loved every bite. I thought the place was great and I've been thinking about the food ever since. Can't wait to go again.

Where for a good lunch in Maynard, Mass?
Christopher's in Maynard is not the same Christopher's in Cambridge. The one in Maynard is more of a steakhouse. Not a very good one unfortunately. It's expensive and fair at best.
I ate at the Monsoon lunch buffet on Friday and it was pathetic. The food at Monsoon is usually o.k. (for Maynard) but the buffett is that same just o.k. food sitting out in warming pans looking old and not very fresh. At at $9.95, I expect a lot better.
From Clock Tower Place, you could walk to Neighborhood Pizza and get a basic pizza and a greek salad and not feel sick, disgusted or ripped off.

Went there for my wif'e's birthday a while back and they pulled out all the stops. We loved every minute of our experience there. The Marathon bar was awesome! I would always get it because it was the BIGGEST! I thought that I knew something that no one else knew....Why wasn't everyone getting the Marathon I wondered? It was the biggest bar in the store!
