Sunday BUFFET Brunch near Providence, RI (not for Easter)
I am looking for a place to hold a brunch for about 16 adults and 8 children. The kiddo factor plays a large role in why I am looking for a buffet. I don't think the little ones can hold out that long (ordering, waiting, eatting). We have done this event at Old Grist Mill in Seekonk before; we are considering 1149 in East Greenwich or Seekonk. Anywhere within about a 20 minute drive of Providence would be fine and around $20-25 price point. Any suggestions?
RI restaurant for 50th B-Day???
What about Wild Fire in North Providence? It's one of our favorites for casual upscale dining. They have a side area great for a large dinner party. We have also had luck at the Old Grist Mill in Seekonk, 1149 in Seekonk, MA and Bravo in downtown Providence (they have a second floor for private parties)

Yikes. Dinner tonight in or near Smithfield, RI?
You can try The Ice House on Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence, a few miles south of Smithfield.

Easy! D. Carlo is a great choice for classic Rhode Island Italian Food. Great bar scene and good for single diners. If you want more hole in the wall, Parente's is okay.

Bachelorette party in Newport, RI?
Hi! I am hosting a bachelorette party for my sister in Newport. We are staying at the Atlantic House Inn in Narragansett since it is a lot less expensive than Newport. We are doing some pre-game drinking at the Coast Guard House near the hotel and then taking a limo into Newport. We are having our bachelorette dinner at the Mooring then hitting up a lot of the places mentioned previously in this thread! Happy Wedding!
ISO: Business dinner/private party location in Manchester, NH
I work primarily in Rhode Island but need to set up a business dinner in Manchester/Hooksett area. Can anyone suggest a nice restaurant with a private room? I don't have a huge budget-- entrees between mostly $10-16 would be ideal. The group is only about 10-15 people so it doesn't have to be a huge banquet hal or anything like that!
suggestion for rehearsal dinner [east bay RI]
I would highly recommend 1149 Restaurant in Seekonk. They have a beautiful room to hold private parties. Also, nearby in Providence is the Waterman Grille that has a lovely indoor patio overlooking the Seekonk River.

Barn Wedding--in Cape Cod?
Okay, it is not a barn, per se, but you will feel like you're in a barn. How about the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset. http://www.redlioninn1704.com/LionsHall.html

Providence: Updates on Harry's, Acme Pizza and Ladder 133
My husband and I along with another couple ate at Mosaic back in December. It was pretty good but I would not put it into the regular rotation. I found it somewhat difficult to find something that I liked on the menu. I ordered the smoked pork chops with cheese grits. It was a little too fatty for my taste but I couldn't find a better dinner selection. My husband had a seafood dish and loved it. I believe our bill came out to almost $200 for the four of us, including tip.
Key West Must Eats
I am going to Key West for 4 days of business meeting with my co-workers. We don't have huge expense budgets but would like to try out the best that Key West has to offer. Can anyone suggest places to eat a quick lunch? Our conference is being held at Crown Plaza's La Concha. We will probably have an hour or less to grab lunch. Also, any dinner rec including beers & coctails afterwards would be great, too! (Dinner entrees $25 or less). Thanks from cold New England chowhounder!
ISO: Warren/Bristol, RI dinner recs for girls night on a budget
I am tapped out on thinking about new places to eat with my girlfriends. We have been to the Admiral Pub, the Cheese Plate, DeWolfe Tavern and Stella Blues. Can you suggest another place that is in our moderate price range?
providence rehearsal dinner
Federal Hill is a tough choice. Because of limited parking and lack of BYOB choices. Wine is too much of a money maker for Federal Hill restaurants. Cassarino's has a 2nd floor room that may be available. My top suggestion is Trattoria Romana in Lincoln, Rhode Island, about 15 minute drive from Providence. Wonderful Italian food with a beautiful private room with landscape scenes of Tuscany. It is really very nice!

ISO: Baby shower location (think: ice cream) in Mont Co or Philly
So, looks like my sister is going to have a baby at the end of the summer. That means a baby shower duing the dog days of summer, probably July. I am thinking about somewhere that says "summer" all over it, maybe a cute cafe that serves speciality ice cream or a bistro with yummy chocolate desserts and powerful air conditioning or a creekside restaurant with a pretty view. We are looking for a place that holds 20 women for an afternoon event. Any suggestions out there?
Italian Family Friendly Dining - Early Friday Dinner [Providence, RI]
I would suggest Angelo's. I think it is probably the most family friendly place on Federal Hill. Since located towards the Dunkins Donuts Center, you can probably make it a brisk walk from your parking gargage, if necessary.
ISO: Post -turkey drinks in Emmaus
We are visiting family for Thanksgiving and we are going to feel like caged animals by the end of the meal. Can anyone suggest a place for adult drinks on Thanksgiving evening? Emmaus is great but any of the towns around there is fine, too!
Child friendly in CT right off 95
I travel back in forth from PA to RI once a month with an 18 month old. We usually stop at La Salsa (Mexican food that is "Panera Bread" style) in Fairfield County. Five Guys Burgers in Orange, CT and Rolly Polly (wraps) in Orange, CT. If you want more of a sit down, I would suggest The Brewhouse in Norwalk.

Any reviews on Mosaic Latin American Bistro in (West End) Providence?
We got invited out to dinner to Mosaic Latin American Bistro. It's located in the Rising Sun Mill where Acme Pizza used to be located.

ISO: Thanksgiving with a toddler in Bucks/Montgomery Co.
We are traveling from Rhode Island with our 18 month old daughter to have Thanksgiving dinner with her grandmother. I am looking for a restaurant to have Thanksgiving dinner, maybe a buffet in the Quakertown area (Lansdale, Montgomeryville, North Wales, etc).
ISO: Caterer for small party near Long Branch/Oceanport
Can anyone recommend a caterer for a small party in the Long Branch/Oceanport area? We are hosting a party for my sister who recently moved to the area. It's a small lunch party for about 20 people. I am hoping the caterer can deliver the food and set up on site; but doesn't need to be there to serve. Any suggestions?
ISO: Private dining in New Haven area
I am hosting a business dinner for about 6 people in the next month or so. I am looking for a restaurant that has a private room or area. Any suggestions?
Looking for meat markets in Northern RI/Providence area
There is a place on Gano Street that sells this type of meet. I don't remember the name but it is near the intersection of PItman and Gano, near a Dunkin Donuts.
Looking for updates on Rehoboth/Dewey

Philly to Maine- need stop suggestions 2 nights up and 2 nights back
I drive monthly from Montgomery County to New England. You are just going to hate the traffic in Connecticut. on I-95. I try to leave PA around 9-10 am, to get into Connecticut after morning rush. My lunch stop is always La Salsa at 580 Post Road, Fairfield. It is about 3 hours into the trip, plus it is quick and right off the highway. After that, there are plenty of great places in Providence. My favorite hotel is The Hotel Providence. There are many restaurants that are walking distance and you may be lucky enough to catch a Waterfire. One of Providence's favorite attractions. From Buck Co. to Providence is about 5 hours (without traffic). If I were you, I would then head up to Maine, depending on how far you want to go... I would stop for lunch at Whole Foods in Portland. Again, quick, right off the highway. Whole Foods in Portland has a lovely cafe with many more dining options that you would think.
Potato Salad in RI
I am from Pennsylvania and can't find really good Potato Salad. I think the best that I have tried is Eastside Market in Providence.
Providence: Updates on Harry's, Acme Pizza and Ladder 133
I was wondering if any chowhounds can give an update on the following restaurants:
Harry's Beer and Beer, it is the newest invention from the John Elkay restaurant group. It is located on North Main Street where Chinese Laundry used to be located. I hear it opened in mid-May. I am also curious about West Side's Acme Pizza and Wine Bar. The phone number is temporarily disconnected. What's going on there? And finally, there is a new restaurant called Ladder 133 where Sticky Fingers was located.

New(ish) Smith St Restaurants, PVD
Yes, it is a take out only place. My husband and I get their food at least once a week. Very, very good and super reasonable prices! My only complaints is the waiting area is stark and they do not have guacamole only guacamole sauce. They are opening a NY style pizza place next door.
