Where to Get Groceries in Kensington?

Golden farm on Church is great and cheaper than foodtown. If i need to buy meat/seafood/deli meat I go to Foodtown or a little eastern european butcher a couple blocks from golden farm.

Best Authentic Latin Food in Woodside/Sunnyside/Elmhurst/Jackson Heights

if you're not opposed to going a bit further east to Corona, there's Tortilleria Nixtamal for Mexican and Rincon Criollo for Cuban, both off of the 7 train.

Looking for good and not too pricy eats in west village?

my go tos are Malatesta for Italian (you can probably eat for under $25 w/out alcohol) and Westville (same deal). They both get crowded but you could probably avoid that if you go on the early side.

Cana korean in Bayside

Checked out Cana, a new korean joint in bayside that just opened. My friends and I had the seafood pancake, pan fried dumplings, ddukboki, seafood soondubu, budae jjigae, kimchee bokum w/tofu, broiled mackerel, and doenjang jjigae. And they also have the steamed egg banchan, which always wins bonus points from me. Food was very good and reminded me of mom's cooking--really fresh and tasty. I think they're in the process of getting a liquor license, so no booze just yet. there's also a little shop connected next door where they sell various banchan, dduk, stews, and other prepared foods...I brought home a container of namul/seasoned veggies and it's definitely better than the banchan i usually pick up at hmart woodside. Coming from main street flushing it was easy to get there by Q27 (in front of modells) for about 20 min and stopping a block away from the restaurant.

Sam Won Gahk - good korean-chinese in flushing

Looking forward to trying this spot. Good korean-chinese restaurants are in short supply around these parts, imo. Lau, have you been to Chu Ying in Woodside? How does SWG compare?

parpadelle with ragu?

Malatesta in the w.village and Pepe Rosso To Go in Soho (seating is very tight, but it is an economical option.)

Taqueria Coatzingo

I didn't know there was another location; thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with JH so nearby Tacolandia had to suffice. Any other recs for exceptional cemitas?

Taqueria Coatzingo

Stopped by tonight and was disappointed to find it closed (for renovations?) Anyone know when it's going to open?

Chicken liver dishes?

Has anyone had the burgers at Seymour Burton?

I tried it last night and was completely blown away. It was thick, juicy, meaty and well-seasoned. I really like Shake Shack burgers (I know they use the same distributor), but this place was better imho b/c they don't overcook theirs. As you've probably read, it comes with cheddar and onions which allowed the beef to really stand out. My conclusion: it's awesome. Also, it comes w/shoestring fries, which I think are sorta wimpy, and aioli. It's a personal thing--I like thick cut fries. With that aside it's totally worth checking out.

This is a few blocks outside your range (maybe taking the bus up B'way would help): Big Nick's on 78th/B'way on the west side of the street.

Need a moderately priced restaurant near Lincoln Center

Landmarc in the Time Warner Center is another option in terms of your price range and cuisine. I had the moules frites, bone marrow, and burger and enjoyed them all; the portions were quite generous as well. It isn't innovative but solid. The restaurant is fairly spacious so you might not even need a small room....

Looking for great meatloaf and mashed potatoes

Ouest in the UWS. It's not Italian style but it's by far the most amazing meatloaf I've ever had--wrapped in bacon and totally decadent. In fact, I hated meatloaf until I tried this. I think it's only a Sunday night special though. Maybe someone else knows or you could call ahead....
