Vintage Cocktails in Spokane? Help!

Scratch/Rain or Press would also be good possibilities.

Sunday brunch in Spokane

I read TEO on a regular basis, though it's gone much downhill since the original writer (Jennifer) detached herself from the site. The glowing reviews of Sante, I've noticed, often list similar issues that I've had, but swiftly forgive the flaws because otherwise it was good. Which is fine, but indicates that some of these issues are recurring.

I'm also in the business, and I could forgive any one of these things and try it again, but the piling up of everything swiftly became ridiculous, especially the service. While I agree that more high quality restaurants are needed, I'm not willing to ignore bland, tepid food and ignorant and incompetent service simply because I like what the restaurant is trying to do.

Farewell, Oceanaire

It has, but twelve locations are still open. I'd expect them to still honor the gift certificate - but it would be best to go sooner rather than later, I'd imagine!

sushi in spokane

Sushi Yama on 3rd Avenue in the old Arctic Circle building is wonderful. It is not open on Wednesdays because the owner is picking up fish in Seattle.

Also, Ginger on Grand Avenue is very good. Its menu has more variety as well.

Sunday brunch in Spokane

I was really disappointed with brunch at Sante. My omelet was incredibly bland and the service was atrocious (slow, food mixed up, bills mixed up, no refills). I was with a group with four others and everyone was feeling much the same about it. I had to go to Rockwood Bakery for a croissant afterward in order to feel sated.

Farewell, Oceanaire

I have a friend that worked there. Nobody called the employees - people arrived to work only to find the doors locked. The exec chef took it on himself to start calling everyone.

Zip's Drive In

I've found that the Ritzville Zip's is the worst of the bunch.

What do Chowhounds do for a living (besides eat of course)?

Taking the bar exam. Part time cheesemonger.

Corkage at Saunder's is $4.50.

Ambrosia is wonderful, and the owners have a new restaurant (same executive chef, Jeremiah Timmons) called Cafe Neo up north a bit.

To the poster who said there's no bagel shop - try Ultimate Bagel on Hamilton. It's not perfect, but it's darn tasty and I love it.
