Thanks brucesw! I meant the former when listing ethnic cuisines as well. Looks like there is a good Chow community in Houston. We will have a car, so willing to try. The boyfriend is totally open to eating new things. Otherwise....he wouldn't be the boyfriend! If you ever come to MN, I would be happy to help with recommendations!

I am going to be in Houston this weekend from Thursday to Sunday. First time and visiting with a friend who lived there and wants to show me the great eats. I am a bit leary of his choices. He is more steak house, I am more chef driven, local finds. Can you help me? We are staying in The Woodlands. Would also like an authentic Mexican joint to go to on Saturday for Cinco de Mayo. Please save me from Steak and Shrimp weekend! Looks like you have some good ethnic foods as well. Recommendations greatly appreciated.
