King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread, anything special?
Thanks SRA, I think I will pick some up next time. I bet it will go perfect with the tuna cranberry walnut apple salad I pick up from Ruffled Feathers
Best Sandwiches in westchester?
We've been to Melt a few times, not sure if we are ordering the wrong thing or not, but I am never blown away -- maybe the build-it-yourself concept isn't working for me and we need to stick to the basics next time we go.
I just feel like I must be ordering the greasiest, heaviest sandwich on the menu. Maybe I will post a separate thread....
Myong restaurant in Mount Kisco, NY
i think businesses get pressured into those coupon things, its not always a sign of desperation. a friend of mine owns a yogurt shop in santa monica and she fell victim to the whole living social thing even though they didn't need the extra business because they were led to believe that there was some "exclusivity" to it all.
in the end those coupons and "deals" just screw everyone over. i generally stay away from those things.
What is THE BEST fine dining Latino restaurant in NYC?
for some reason, i never really felt the love for Aldea. Nuela also isn't one of my favorites, although they do have delicious cocktails, especially the "devil's sweat!"
Dans Le Noir NYC: dining in the dark
this looks fascinating! i hope to hear some good experiences...
Almond croissant at Cannelle is.............
is it worth the schlep from outside the boro? how does it stack against ceci cela, or city bakery's unique pretzel croissant?
King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread, anything special?
I was at Fresh Market today and noticed that this "Kings Hawaiian Sweet Bread" is popping up everywhere... i saw it at grand central and at eli's in the city.... has anyone tried this "bread?" Is it brioche-like? or like challah? I think we've had french toast made with this bread before, but not sure. Is there something special about this bread?
OMG!!! H Mart is opening in Hartsdale, NY!
hey Marge! Which brand of Korean pancakes did you like? we bought some last week and they were o.k. other frozen stuff purchased were good, especially the chive dumplings...talk about sensory overload!
Looking for cupcakes in lower Westchester County
those fabulous knock-off twinkies have changed the way I feel about cupcakes. especially the passionfruit and strawberry varieties. addictive. i don't think I could ever eat a cupcake again. I especially don't have not the patience to wait for that huge mound (delicious, but huge) of cold buttercream to get soft from the refrigerator.
Southern Belles visiting the Big Apple
Beauty and Essex is my new favorite restaurant :)
really good seafood in Manhattan.
also not a big fan of aquagrill. ... i do like pearl and mary's fish camp. blt fish is also quite good
Lulu's and wedding cakes
That's probably just the "latest trend" -- since they are in every wedding magazine I don't think there's anything "amateurish" about them, in fact I happen to love the cake in the window with the hand-painted flower (rose?) on it.
New Frozen Yogurt Shop on Garth Rd. in Scarsdale
I think its called Greenberry? Never heard of it -- there is a sign on the window...anyone heard of it...
Caffe Azzurri, Hartsdale?
We also went a few weeks ago and the food was delicious. Unfortunately it was empty, on a Saturday night. Not sure why, it doesn't seem to be a location factor considering its proximity, accessability and there is ample parking...
Zanero's in White Plains is closed
Was this the restaurant on the corner next to Asian Temptation/ Legal Seafood?

Taro leaves, taro leaves, please help I want some taro leaves
I swear I've seen them connected to the root sold by street vendors on Mott St. Feel free to invite me for your Laulau luau! LOL
Which vnyl?
I had the worse Caesar salad here in my life. The steak (ordered med-well) was so bloody it turned my salad dressing pink! I won't be returning anytime soon.
Which restaurant has the best bread basket in the westchester area?
While not a bread basket, I adore the fresh warm pretzels served with stone ground mustard at Emma's Ale House. They get points for originality in my book!

Which restaurant has the best bread basket in the westchester area?

Caffe Azzurri, Hartsdale?
We went there during that stormy night last weekend. Food was pretty good. We ordered an Osso Bucco special made with pork and the sea bass. Good solid food. Bill was typically "Westchester" clocking in about $100 for two for a good meal- not doing cartwheels here but it was good.
Best hot dogs in Westchester
Very nice folks with innovative toppings but the dogs were nothing out of the ordinary. It took about 20 minutes to get about 6 or 7 dogs. I much prefer Walter's. Less is more. Not a big fan of a whole bunch of things on my hot dog
Seeking premium cocktails in Westchester
that is too bad that they closed. I wish there was a place like the original Milk and Honey in the city too. Death & Co. also.
Anyone tried new Turkish place in White Plains?
I had the same experience, very heavy food here. I think we'll give it another shot though. Like debmom, we also want to like this place!
Wedding Venues help!!!
I second the Botanical Gardens. My nephew had his bar mitzvah there a few months ago. The service was professional , the atmostphere was spectacular and the food was innovative and top notch. They even made a delicious bar mitzvah cake to match his rock 'n roll theme. I believe the caterers were Abigail Kirsch - might have been Great Performances but one of those two.
Q in Mt Kisco closed (as is the Guatemalen Chapines Deli?)
Oh, no! Please don't tell me this is true! i love this place!
