Another question about Chinese Banquet!
For my upcoming 30th birthday, I want to have a Chinese restaurant cater a dinner at my house in Pasadena. Unlike hound, jcorngold I don't want a meal based just on seafood, but rather a mix (i.e. whole fish, noodles, peking duck, buns, veggies, etc). We are most interested in Shanghainese, but if the best option is a different cuisine we're open to anything. Most important is delicious, beautiful, and authentic. Suggestions greatly appreciated!
Where to buy Barritt's Ginger Beer in LA area?
I have ordered it from my local liquor store in the past. If they are willing to order Black Seal, sometimes they will track down the soda too. What ever you do, don't settle for any other ginger beer.

Sandwich for Hollywood Bowl???
I'm going to the Bowl tonight and my boyfriend requested sandwiches in our picnic basket. Can anyone suggest a place to get a couple super yummy east coast type deli sandwich that would keep well for a few hours? Extra points for a suggestion on the east half of the city.
