Current recommendations for Luang Prabang?

Any suggestions from street food to high end appreciated. Also, recommendations for cooking class at Tamarind? Thanks for any help.

Need vegan friendly recommendations

Try Blossoming Lotus. We had a nice glass of wine with a decent vegan dinner (and we are happy carnivores!)

Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions, how about a sushi joint, any tapas style places, small atmospheric, not really looking for Cheesecake Factory kind of places...

Hi there, I have a conference November 8-10, and want to make the most of my free meal time while there-looking for recommendations. Thanks for your help! Nothing super high end/fancy-just tasty eclectic/ethnic good stuff...

From Zion to Moab

Hi Chowhounders, Four friends (includes one vegetarian) will be spending 10 days between Zion/Springdale to Moab, doing a mix of camping and staying at inns. We would appreciate a heads up to any tasty treats along the way. We are willing to go out of our way within reason if there is some great don't miss regional joint. Thanks for any suggestions...

Thank you, FM, I could not find my posting, so I thought it had been lost in web space, and that I should try again.

Embarcadero Hyatt Regency area Lunch Spots

Hi, I will be attending a 5 day conference soon (Mar 09) and would like suggestions for making the most out of my one hour lunch possibilities. Any suggestions for delicious quick eats under $25 of any persuasion would be appreciated. Thanks from a Portland foodie!

Hyatt Regency Embarcadero Area Lunches

Hi, I am a Portland foodie attending a 5 day workshop coming up and will have an hour for lunch daily, and am perfectly willing to dash out in a 10 minute radius of the hotel to eat at a different yummy SF spot each day (and oh well if I get back a little late to a lecture, thats OK if the food is worth it!)...I would love to eat a variety of cuisines, willing to pay up to $25 a lunch including tip, Take out is acceptable if otherwise my time limit would preclude enjoying my meal. I will be Barting back to Berkeley every night and dolng the family thing, so hoping to make the most out of lunch. Can you help me out?

Eating in Columbia Valley

I second the suggestion of Cuvee in Carlton, and would highly recommend the Painted Lady in Dundee. .Try Crescent City Cafe in McMinnville for breakfast. The Good RIver restaurant in Mosier has some nice buzz, as does Celilo in Hood River, but I have not been to either. Good luck!

Okanagan Food

Hi, reviewing the board for Okanagan trip next month. Any additional suggestions for smaller wineries, particularly organic/biodynamic. We like pretty much any wine that is tasty and a good value, prefer to stay away from the places that have the tour buses rolling in though...We are from Oregon, and will be camping in the Canadian rockies, and then finishing with an indulgent wine and dine In Okanagon area before heading back home...Thanks.

Portland Thai & Indian

Thai Basil is an unbelievable food cart on sw 2nd and Oak, for $5 you get a great big entree, they throw in a iced thai tea and little yummy salad roll for free-super good deal. Also try Mai Thai in se, and Vindalho for awesome Indian food.
Pok Pok reigns supreme for me, you can get take out at lunch at their food cart out front, for a cheaper but still tasty meal. Of course, I always end up getting their chicken wings, we call them the "crack wings" at our house, cuz you can't stop eating them...

Columbia River Gorge (Literally!)

Thanks, Washingtonred. Are these wineries where we need to make appointments? We do tend to prefer the small and obscure and are happy to set them up if needed...

Columbia River Gorge (Literally!)

Planning a trip thru the Columbia Gorge, hoping for suggestions for best winery visits in the area, perhaps a total of 6-8 over 2 days. Will probably spend the night in Hood River, would welcome any restaurant recommendations on either Oregon or Washington side close to the area (not Portland or Vancouver). Thanks! Oh, and this would be for a small group of friends in the early fall...

PDX wine country box lunch: recs?

Check out Foster and Dobb's on NE 15th. They have killer sandwiches to go along with great cheeses. Also Grand Central Bakeries does a good job with box lunches. You can look at both of these places on line. I was just down in Wine Country and ate dinner at both Cuvee and the Painted Lady, both highly recommended.

I-84 PDX to Boise, Decent Food?

Driving next weekend from Portland to near Boise (Ontario) and back for a wedding. Any suggestions for some decent chow on route? We would drive a little out of the way for a real humdinger diner...
