In search of good fried clams in the NYC/Long Island area

FYI, I have finally found a place in the Hamptons that has FRESH WHOLE BELLY FRIED CLAMS! Bostwick's in East Hampton, they were decent sized, super sweet and tender and a generous portion. I was in heaven!

Anything new in Riverhead? Calling Coll :)

FYI, stopped at Roadhouse Brick Oven Pizza last week (there was a coupon in the Tanger book) and was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised at how good the Pizza etc... was and the people who run/own it could not be nicer, really a great group there.

Dante's is still the best IMO in the White Plains area, Park Deli in Port Chester is very good too. Anthony at Dante's makes a fantastic sandwich and the hot foods are delicious too.

Breakfast Buffet in Westchester

I agree the Doral or Hilton are the way's to go. The Renaissance has one too but its gone downhill lately.

Haiku is much better, take it from a former Bao's regular.

Great hidden spot - Fairway's at the Griff in Greenwich

The restaurant at the Griff public golf course called "Fairways at the Griff" is quite the hidden gem. Was told by a friend about it and took the family there Saturday evening. It has a great lunch and dinner menu. You can order from the lunch menu at dinner and it is mostly appetizers, sandwiches and burgers but they also have mulitple ways to order their foot long hot dogs (about a dozen differnt toppings). For dinner they offer a wide selection of Italian fare and grilled chicken and steaks. We opted for the lunch menu as we were with our kids and I must say the food was delicious, the service was FAST (a huge plus with young ones) and sitting on the patio you get a great view of the golf course. Best of all very reasonably priced. For the 4 of us and the wife and I had 1 drink each was under $40. The kids even got ice cream! Bottom line, Fairways is a great bang for the buck and is now one of our new family restaurants.
