Wil Wright's macaroons
Great post!! I loved Wil Wrights too! Esp. in Westwood after a movie. Choc Burnt Almond with the chocolate whipped cream/fluff and the macaroon. I make those macaroons but sorry, won't share my recipe because I sell them at my cookie biz. Great memories--there will never be another WW's. bsl2000, thanks for the info--isn't it great that you were part of cherished LA history? :-)
TACO CATERERS
I got the same quote of $ 500 from Fernando, so went with Lety's. The cook was very nice, very clean, didn't speak English, but super-accommodating. Stayed longer than the time negotiated, which was appreciated. However, the meats were not good quality. There was a ton of carne asada leftover, so no one liked it. The al pastor was good, but the chicken was full of "undesirable" pieces. Not great seasoning on anything, although everything looked good. Average salsas, good tortillas, lots of grilled jalapenos, grilled onions (white, not green), radishes, cilantro. Would I use them again? Unlikely.
Taco catering
Thanks for your reply. I will try them, if they are still in business!!
Taco catering
Can anyone recommend a good (and not too expensive) caterer who does soft tacos, cooked on site, for a party of 75 guests?

Thanks to everyone for your replies and help! This my first time on Chowhound, and it has been great!
On Night in Charlottesville, VA
We will be spending one quick night and day in Charlottesville. Any suggestions for a good dinner, not too expensive, but moderately priced, non-chain, any sort of cuisine except Asian (food allergies). And a good casual lunch place? Any favorites? Thanks!
