Good tap water. I'm not really supposed to drink-- I get the "asian flush" (ALDH2 deficient.) Of course, I can't resist a sip from a harmonious wine pairing. Or something organic or biodynamic, like a Benziger 2006 Carneros Chardonnay.
I really wish I could:
...make a living eating, travelling, and cooking! Right?
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
...is never the same.
My favorite comfort food:
Ramen. Japanese curry and white rice. Miso.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
...is always evolving... I rarely go to the same restaurant twice because I'm usually in search of the next "favorite" and also "favorite" sometimes has more to do with comfort and accessibility than the exceptionality of a meal so, with that said... my most memorable 5 in Boston at the moment is Hungry Mother, Radius, Craigie on Main, Lumiere, and the Peter Ungar's private chefs table events at The Dining Alternative...
My most tattered cookbooks:
Perfect Vegetables and Joy of Cooking. These two are my go-to guides when I don't know how to pull something off. Or the internet, right? Chowhound or epicurious usually.
