Marino's Deli ?

The last time I was there was a few years ago (I no longer live in the area) and I remember they had a killer chicken parmesan sandwich!

Crookston, MN recs?

So sorry to hear about the bad Happy Joe's experience in Crookston! That cheeseburger pizza does sound totally gross!

I didn't know you were going to be in Grand Forks - I lived there for a year a while back and could have sent you some recommendations.

And yes, the Lutheran Churches on Main...I happen to be a member one of them!

Paella in Mpls / St. Paul

Where can I get a good paella in the Twin Cities? Thanks in advance!

Crookston, MN recs?

Crookston, eh? I grew up there, and let me tell you, there really isn't a lot to eat in town.

I recommend :

Happy Joe's (705 E Robert St) has really good pizza. I also believe they have a lunch buffet, but don't quote me on that. http://www.happyjoes.com/index.php

China Moon (114 S Broadway) for their lunch and dinner buffet. Next door is Widman's Candy Shop. I recommend picking up a bag of chippers - chocolate covered potato chips.

The Ness Cafe in Erskine (526 Vance Ave S, Erskine, MN. Tel: 218-687-2101) is very charming. They serve homemade diner food at great prices. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Erskine, but it's worth the drive. (Photo here : http://www.lakesnwoods.com/images/Erskin94.jpg)

The restaurant inside the Northland Inn (2200 University Ave) has always been good. It's probably the "classiest" restaurant in town. http://www.northlandprairieinn.com/crookston/restaurant.shtml

Whatever you do, stay away from RBJ's (1601 University Avenue). The parking lot is always full (usually a sign of a good restaurant) but the food is so horrible. I once found a piece of fish floating in my water glass. Yeah, gross.

Anyway, good luck and if you have any more questions, please ask!

St. Paul Trader Joe's

The store is opening on June 26!

St. Paul Trader Joe's

I asked a Trader Joe's Crew Member this weekend when the St Paul location will open and I was told June or July.

Riverview Wine Bar Walt Special MSP

I am oddly intrigued about what "The Walt Special" is. The menu states "If you don't know, don't order it"...could someone help me out on this?

Thanks in advance.

Famous Dave's BBQ, any hounds ever been?

I like Famous Dave's and so does my husband. I say you should try it!

first sonic in minnesota, what the..?

I went to the St. Paul Sonic two weeks ago with my husband and we were very disappointed. My husband ordered a burger (which was unseasoned), french fries (that tasted like air AND were cold) and cheesecake bites. The cheesecake bites were good, but I wouldn't go back for just those.

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, which also had zero flavor. I was starving and I couldn't finish it. It was gross.

I don't know if we went on a bad day, but I don't think I'll go back when Wendy's is so much better!
