Has anyone been anywhere? It's now through June 9. I am going to Center St Bistro tonight. Will report back. |

Wow...you aren't kidding! Cue the crickets and the tumbleweeds for the Cape Cod area in this Southern New England forum! It is verrrrry CT-centric right now. Thanks to dordalina for the recs, but I am in the same boat as phelana and CCG...I feel like I need a passsport to go to Falmouth from the mid Cape (she probably feels the same way about coming to Chatham). |
You're right! That's where I first heard of it: Phantom Gourmet! |
You should post this in "Greater Boston Area" as that covers Metro West. PS- I always wanted to try that place (I grew up in Framingham, parents still there), but I never made it. I hope it's still open. |

Cape Cod in November.. need suggestion for Chatham Area Yes, Del Mar or Vining's Bistro (both in Chatham). I also like the Impudent Oyster. Sounds like a really nice trip. |
Lyric Yarmouthport...worth another look! Maybe I can talk phelana into going on Sunday! I am so looking forward to returning. Glad you had a good experience, CCG. |

What CCG said. |

Downtown: Le Languedoc, Center Street Bistro, Dune, and the Boarding House will be your finer dining options. For more casual, the Brotherhood, Rose & Crown, and 12 Degrees East should all be open. Black Eyed Susan's will be closed. |

Cape Cod - Sunday Brunch Recommendations My friend and I had a fantastic brunch at Lyric (Rt 6A, Yarmouth Port) on Sunday. It's a beautiful, well laid out restaurant with great natural light. The menu was so great, I can't wait to go back and work my way through it. We both got the same thing: Eggs Benedict on grilled brioche with duck hash (instead of the Canadian bacon) for $10. No, we weren't redesigning the menu, this is an option! It was insanely delicious. Served with hash browns and fruit salad. Perfect lemony Hollandaise, too. We probably needed a side of Lipitor, but it was worth it. Our waitress was great, and I loved watching Ann, the owner, greet all of her guests. Piano player was just starting as we were leaving. Other menu items (that I can remember) that I want to go back and try: calves liver, a BLT, braised short ribs over grits, steak tips, build your own omelet, fish and chips, and the burger. The prices are insanely reasonable for a fine dining brunch experience. |

Lay it on me chowhounds of the cape, part 2 They're going to Israel. |

The Epicure is no longer on Main St in downtown Chatham. It is a preppy clothing store now. Unless I am mistaken and the Epi is still in business, but moved. Not really "mid-Cape", but Town Center on Rt 6 in Eastham is a great wine shop. Knowledgable and wine-passionate owners are always there. |

Did you do a search first? Do that. What meals? What is your price range/ threshhold of pain range? |

Bring your bikes. The WAVE buses have bike racks on the front. Maybe you can ride to Sconset and bus it back (or the reverse). |
Right in the heart of downtown Nantucket is the Greenhound bus station for the local WAVE buses. They leave every 20 or 30 minutes. $2 to Sconset. Piece of cake. You should do it. It's so worth it. Also from Greenhound you can catch the Madaket bus and get off at Sanford Farm ($1). And just grab another us back to town when ready. In Sconset you can do the walk, have lunch at Claudette's or Chanticleer (glamour lunch). Claudette's has great takeout. Check out the Beach Bar at the Summer House, but have lunch at your own risk. Gorgeous spot that is a train wreck. I want to love it do much, but it's a mismanaged mess. Then spend the day at the beach. |

Re: Nantucket. Sconset Bluff walk is beautiful. You get to see all of the unique little houses of Codfish Park that are nestled cheek-by-jowl in the cutest village ever. But that "walk" is over in 10-15 minutes. Sanford Farm is miles of "groomed" trails, and a true walk. You really commit to a walk once you start. You can be iin there for an hour or two. They are two very different experiences. Sanford Farm is on the Madaket Road and has a parking lot. |

Are you just on Nantucket for the day? Lunch only? As you probably know, Something Natural and Provisions are both sandwich take-out places, albeit with tables you can sit at. If that's all you want, they both do good sandwiches. Otherwise I too like Slip 14. Two new places are Seadog and Met on Main. I haven't been to either yet. I avoid town like the plague in summer. |

OMG....your chicken enchiladas sound so good! Love the drag names...Hedda Lettuce, Sara Bellum, Virginia Ham, Sandy Beach, Miss Understood... |

Did you do a search 02903? And you may be in luck (I don't know your exact dates): Nantucket Restaurant Week is June 4-10. Check out their website for specifics and participating restaurants. There are some great deals to be had. Yes, Black Eyed Susan's is one of my favorites (BYOB) and Centre Street Bistro, too (also BYOB). Both are downtown. There are new things afoot in the restaurant world here: Met On Main taking over the former Even Keel spot on Main St (but not open until July), SeaDog Brewing Co. is where the former Atlantic Cafe and Cy's were. Cru is the new hot spot where the Ropewalk used to be. Fog Island opened a branch out of town at the former Cinco spot. High End: Oran Mor, The Pearl. Affordable (that is, Nantucket "affordable"): Black Eyed Susan's, Lola 41, Fog Island, 12 Degrees East (former Cambridge St Victuals spot). |

Ross' Grille I want to try Ten Tables and Bubala's next time. My sister loves Napi's. |
The food was great! The view fantastic (if a tad chilly). The lobster roll was an enormous amount of lobster and a good lobster to mayo ratio. A deal for the amount of lobster she got. I can't wait to go back. |
Yes, CCG...I thought so! I spent many good years at Joe Mac's, too. In fact, I still had a t-shirt until recently, if you can believe it. I had a nice lunch yesterday with phelana at Sesuit Cafe. The food was terrific. Then I went to Mayflower Beach...gorgeous. |

'Epitome' of Cape Cod restaurant? The Pearl on Nantucket does an Asian-themed wok fried lobster. It's very popular and there would be a foodie riot if they took it off the menu. Very $$$$ though. |
Hangar B Eatery on Chatham, MA Yes! My Red Flannel hash was divine! And the Softie BLT looked amazing! I can't wait to go back. |
And I share both your feelings! But wait, hasn't Gina's been around a lot longer than '79? I swear I went their as a kid, when we'd fight over whether to go to Rose's or Gina's (before the by-the-sea was added)??? I also look forward to going pre-season! Good review. |

New in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean I cannot wait to go! I love his food, and this location is a huge improvement! |

March 2012: eating near Brewster on the Cape Chatham Fish, at The Cornfield on Rt 28. |
March 2012: eating near Brewster on the Cape Fin is great on 6A in Dennis. They are open. |
New England not well represented on 101 best restaurant list. So...what were they? |
'Epitome' of Cape Cod restaurant? You mean the Beachcomber in Wellfleet? They always close Labor Day Weekend, so it's probably out for this group. If the weather is nice, definitely Sesuit Cafe for lunch. I agree, a drive down 6A is perfect. It is so beautiful!!! Stop at Grey's Beach (as suggested) in Yport, or Howes St Beach or Cold Storage (Dennis). September is the best. |

Well said, CCG. Cape Cod is not the vast gastronomic wasteland. You just have to know where to go and where to avoid. |
