Great fresh pasta place next door too.
CT Shoreline Dining Options
I do like Skippers Dock in Stonington http://www.skippersdock.com beautiful setting, cute town and I do enjoy their hot lobster roll... a Connecticut thing.
Abbott's in Noank http://www.abbotts-lobster.com/ has a great view and good food and it's BYOB if you don't mind the picnic tables and paper plates. It is fish only, you have to go down the street for burgers or chicken, but you can all dine together.
The Blue Oar http://www.blueoar.com/ has excellent food and BYOB on the CT River, but it's the paper plate thing again. Also not the best for handicap access... it's one flight of stairs up to order from a chalk board menu and the rest rooms are a long walk up a steep hill from the marina location, but you could always drive up.
The SP Oyster Co. http://www.sp-oyster.com has a perfect setting on the Mystic River with an outdoor patio, overlooking the bridge with a fair amount of variety on the menu.
My favorite still after all the years in The Fishtale http://www.ljfishtale.com in Westbrook... no view, but outstanding seafood.
At the other end of the state is Rowayton Seafood http://www.rowaytonseafood.com/ great food (Lobster sliders... to die for!), on the water but is a bit tricky to find if you don't know the area. I'd say it is worth a daytrip. Google the directions, they are pretty good.

Visit to Philly, staying at Market Street Marriott Downtown
A Philly Landmark you shouldn't miss is McGillin's Olde Ale House. Can be a bit tricky to find b/c it's on a back street b/t Chestnut & Sansom and 13th & Juniper, but definitely worth the effort and a short walk from the Marriott, maybe 3 blocks. Good food, reasonable prices, the friendliest staff and great beer selections. They do L & D 7 days a week and Brunch on Sat. & Sun. and is great for groups. A fun place!
At least go for a beer and soak up some Philly history.

Newport early June Recommendations
These are a few of the places I like for various reasons, some for the view, some for their dinner specials. I think they all have pretty good food, but of course some are better than others. Check them out and enjoy!

JP Dempsey's State St. New Haven
Stopped here for lunch the other day and was wow'd. I have not been here in some time, but the quality and taste of dishes was wonderful as always. The homemade tomato sauce is wonderful as is the Al Gusto Bread!! The staff was wonderful and were very accommodating. Go here for a fun time and great food!!
Bridge House, in Milford CT-OUTSTANDING!!
I went for the early bird special tonight... offered Tuesday thru Friday, 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Lunch is a great deal too!!! I arrived at 5:15 p.m. and told the server my intention, but was waiting for a friend to arrive. My friend arrived at 5:35 p.m and the server told us if we ordered right away she could get us in for the early bird! Nice touch!!!!
The food was wonderful as I have come to expect now on more than a dozen visits.
I really like this place... I am enjoying eating my way thru their menu and the people are so friendly. My absolute favorite is their seafood chowder!! I have never had a bad meal here... understatement, they have all been wonderful! If I had to pick a favorite... so far it would be the Pepper Crusted Steak Sandwich, Gorgonzola, Caramelized Onions, Horseradish Mayo and the Lemon Scented Chicken, Herb Scented Risotto.
Impudent Oyster, Chatham (Cape Cod)
I had lunch at Impudent Oyster last week, the Nantucket Scallop Sandwich. It was excellent... will definitely return.
Labor Day Lunch in New Haven
Leon's in the harbor http://www.leonsofnewhaven.com/ Don't know if they are open on Labor Day.
Any Non-Seafood Recs from NYC to Cape Cod along the I-95?
The Griswold Inn in Essex is a good spot. Just a bit off the highway but great food and a scenic town! http://www.griswoldinn.com/
On the way back stop at Pasta Vita for a great take out meal for when you get home... exit 67 from I95 south, take a left and you are there. I stock up for those nights after work when you just don't want to do a thing!

I second the Milford Bridge House, 49 Bridgeport Ave. ... just great food and service! Get the chowder, it's awesome!
Old Saybrook Area Recs.
Put the Blue Oar in Haddam on your list for next year! Very casual spot on the river... BYOB.
http://www.blueoar.com/ still under construction
Abbott's Lobster in Noank, CT
If you like fried, visit http://www.costellosclamshack.com/ right next door. Abbott's is BYOB too.
Seven Seas, Milford, CT.
I haven't been here in a while but, the Seven Seas is the real deal... just great seafood, large portions, reasonable prices, kid friendly, and a very homey atmosphere. The candy basket and popcorn were a big hit with the kids, but the adults enjoyed the soft shell crabs, the CT hot lobster rolls and the fish & chips! The waitress/bartender worked a room of at least 15 tables and a half full bar flawlessly. I could not believe she was doing all of this by herself. She really earned her tips! Give it a try... you'll like it.
Best seafood in newport?
I enjoy Yesterday's Cafe in Washington Sq. http://www.yesterdaysandtheplace.com/frameset.htm
They do a scallop dish in a tomato beurre blanc that is excellent. Not sure if it is on the regular menu or a special, but it melts in your mouth.
Also enjoy Rhode Island Quahog Company

Bridge House, in Milford CT-OUTSTANDING!!
I agree with the OP the Bridge House is outstanding. At lunch today we ordered the seafood chowder which now ranks right up there in my top 2! Our waiter, Patrick, explained it was really a clam chowder and boy was it loaded with clams... awesome! Next we split the crab cake appetizer served with a cucumber salad and loved that as well... all crab no fillers. The cucumber salad was a really nice complement. With an eye towards having leftovers, ordered the meatloaf sandwich... again no fillers, moist, a very generous portion served warm on a nice roll. Brought most of it home... lunch tomorrow!
They ought to take that chowder to the RI Chowder Festival next year!
Breakfast in Newport
I had an Ab-Fab Irish Breakfast (heart attack on a plate) at Buskers, but I think it is only offered on Sundays http://www.buskerspub.com/
Also a great breakfast at the Tennis Hall of Fame, another Sunday thing I think. http://laforgenewport.com/index.html
Must Eat Stops en route to Cape Cod from NYC
Lenny & Joe's is one my favs, prefer the Westbrook location http://www.ljfishtale.com
Also like Abbots Lobster in the Rough in Noank , eat at a picnic table and enjoy the ocean breeze http://www.abbotts-lobster.com/
Connecticut to Maine, What's your thought?
I haven't been up this way in a while but Newburyport, MA. was always a good spot for dining and shopping. Check out http://www.newburyportchamber.org/dining.shtml
You may be in time for "Yankee Homecoming" in Newburyport, July 26-Aug. 2
My other favorite is Stonewall Kitchen in York, Me. http://stonewallkitchen.com/
Bridge House, in Milford CT-OUTSTANDING!!
I have had lunch at the Bridge House twice and will be returning. My first visit I had the Onion Soup Emilia-Romagna, more like a stew than a soup. It was very good, but the serving was more like a sample size. I don't think it is still on the menu. I also had the Caesar Salad, lunch size was huge... love the croutons! My second visit I had the Pepper Crusted Steak Sandwich, Gorgonzola, Caramelized Onions, Horseradish Mayo and I cleaned my plate... really great sandwich!!
Friendly staff and pleasant surroundings, although the booths felt a little cramped and the tables a little high. Take a table by the window.

Good place for preshow drinks near Tweeter/Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA?
I really have to say a tailgate is your best bet, especially postshow... it can take up to 90 minutes to get out of the parking lot!
Desperately Seeking HOT LOBSTA ROLLS
I might suggest Skippers Dock in 66 Water St. in Stonington, CT, also about a 1 hour drive from Providence. http://www.skippersdock.com/
I give their Hot Lobster Roll a 10 out of 10 and save room for dessert... they are awesome!
