Looking for Flageolet beans for Easter!
Try Fairway. They usually have a very nice selection of dried french beans. Several locations in Manhattan, one in Yonkers as well.
Suggestions for great eats in Paris, France
Try Le Manege De L'ecuyer. Just a short walk from the Louvre. 6 Rue de la Sourdiere. 3 course price fix available for about 28euros, great value! Excellent food. French onion soup to die for. I had the goose breast, husband had steak. We loved them both. Desserts were excellent as well. It's very small, just a few tables. We were the only patrons during our visit. I was suprised since everything was so wonderful! The chef is the host and waiter as well. He doesn't speak English, but is very friendly and relaxed. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Paris.
Newport, RI
Food was very good and inventive. We had the 3 course dinner. Great variety of choices and ample portions....we didn't have room for dessert.....but the complimentary chocolate truffle was the perfect bite to end a wonderful, memorable meal.Wine list excellent!! Tried Vouvray for the first time (we both had fish)....Loved it!
Service was OUTSTANDING!!....friendly,attentive and comfortable atmosphere. We did not have a long wait for any course. Start to finish was 90 min.
All in all, expensive, but high quality ingredients and worth it if you're looking for a special dining experience!
I highly recommend Tallulah's!
Newport, RI
I hope you have a wonderful time as well!! I will be with my husband! We are on our way to visit my daughter in Providence for her birthday! We thought a stopover in Newport would be nice! Looking forward to it! I'll post my thoughts when I get home. I have no doubt that I'll be pleased!! Thanks again, Frank! You are so kind.....I'm not terribly familiar with the "protocol" on this board.

Thank you for all of the suggestions Frank! I've decided on Tallulah's! I'm so thankful that there are polite people that read and respond to posts like mine! Can't wait for Friday!!!

Dining in Ireland
Will be in Killarney /Ring of Kerry 3 days, Galway 1 day and Dublin 3 days during February. Any recommendations for good places to eat?
Anyone have or used a Viking oven?
I purchased a 6 burner duel fuel Wolf and I could not be happier... Burners have a regular flame adjust for low to high in addition to a full simmer range high to low......unbelievable!! Electric oven heats up in a very reasonable time period.........convection mode really speeds cooking time. Highly recommend it.

Stowe Vermont Dessert Recipe
Looking for a recipe for "Crowning Glory" from Mr. Pickwick's @ Ye Old English Inn in Stowe VT. They keep the recipe a secret....Gourmet Magazine has requested it to no avail. It's a layer of oreo cookie crust, topped with a layer of chocolate brownie, then a layer of strawberry cream and the another layer of sweetened cream, topped with pecans and a chocolate drizzle. Served on a bed of strawberry coulis. It's amazing!! if anyone has ever successfully recreated it.....I'd appreciate it if you would share your recipe!!

Gourmet Magazine has asked for the recipe but they're keeping it a secret. I'd love to try to recreate it at home. Has anyone ever attempted to recreate it? I'd appreciate any help.
