The Vanderbit ripping off The Wing Bar

Last weeks overly clever Brooklyn Vs. MAnhattan issued highlighted the Vanderbilts deep fried brussels sprout dish which is way to similar to the delicious version served at the Wing Bar. The Wing Bar was serving there dish for months before the Vanderbilt was open. Furthermore the Wing bar is located a short stumble away from the owners of the Vanderbilt's flagship restaurant Saul. I am disturbed and saddened for the lovely family that owns the Wing Bar home of the best bar food in the city.

Brooklyn Pizza: Please critique my list

Yes MUST do Lucali which is the current best skip fornino and under NO circumstances should you go to any other Totonnos locations then the original, they merely liscence the use of the name, same goes for Patsy's only go to the East Harlem original.

Any New Haven-style pizza on LI?

I second that and have it on excellent authority that they are indeed franchises.

Any New Haven-style pizza on LI?

all the talk about Frank Pepes... What about sallys apizza? Unlike Peppes they only focus on the original location and do not spread themselves too thin. Think of them as the Eric Rippert of New Haven

report on umi nom in clinton hill

Heading to Oneonta - Help Please

Is Sabitini's still around? Im sure the neptune diner still is. brooks of course I was at college there nearly a decade ago, surely among the wildest times of my life. I was too broke as well as too inebriated to get too into any real dining scene
but what a place. I remember another diner, besides neptune on main street that was owned by thais, they offered thai dishes in addition to the standard diner fare, although I never got around to trying it. Reds filling station was known for the best wings and they had them on special some night. The Silver bullit used to sell pizza from window boooths in the bar

Lunch in Long Island $12 Limit

gotcha I actually grew up in that area (northport) but live in Brooklyn now. Another good spot in Huntington is the sushi place Osaka on Main St (25A). They have lunch specials that come to $12 and under and take Amex. Sushi is really solid and fresh. And then there is the perennial fallback choice, almost everywhere in Long Island, Green Cactus...

Lunch in Long Island $12 Limit

will be working all over Long Island daily during the next few months scouting locations mostly in Nassau and a little bit of western Suffolk. I have a 12 dollar limit on the meal they will reimburse me for. Please give me the best possible meals anywhere around North shore or south. Acceptance of Amex a huge plus (Company Card)

Txikito-best tapas in town

The squid in its own ink was simply the best i ever had. Every dish however was fantastic including the fries with the spicy cod roe mayo, the leeks, little grilled cheese sand with shrimp & mushroom. We hear that the folks at tia pol and quinto pinto are shaking n there boots and apparently it is fully justified. The only downside are the pitiful and overpriced "cocktails" stick to beer and wine for now.

totonno's destroyed by fire

Totonno's is great dispite the revelation that it is run by Republicans. Nevertheless I hope they rebuild soon and am glad everyone was all right. I actually prefer there white pie to the regular the matron of the restaurant once claimed to me that the white pie was created here. Do any of you hounds have any information supporting or disputing this claim? For the record I must state that there are several pizzerias in the city better then Totonnos.

Joe's Crab Shack?

Was confused by the bizarre ad campaign that appeared out of nowhere one night on television and disappeared just as mysteriously. The ad was so freaky and barely gave any indication of the name of the place besides a quick mention of "Joe's" and a mostly unreadable logo flashed for a nanosecond. There closest location seems to be southern New Jersey. Will someone please fill me in on this strange place beyond what could well be the most mystifying ad ever to air?
