Fried dough, Connecticut style...
It's very easy to make, we still do it occasionally, you can buy dough at a local pizza shop (or even at the grocery store) ,stretch it out and fry in oil. Top it with Sauce cheese.
Don't wait Do it Tonight!!!!!

Your fave Little Italy joint
I enjoy LaMela, the food is good and the staff is great. As for dessert, I agree with Cafe Roma is far better than Ferrara, The last time I bought Biscotti at Ferrara they were tasteless. Not only is Cafe Rome pasteries better their prices are much less then Ferrara's
Lunch for 25-reasonable but good-family reunion
LeMela in Little Italy on Mulberry St has good food, with reasonable prices, They serve family style. It's not a fancy place. but with 25 people, you wouldn't want a quiet, stuffy place anyway.

Sammy's Roumanian Steakhouse
If it's a Saturday night, go to Pasquale's on Arthur Ave in the Bronx, I know some people on the site don't like the music but If you have a good group of people it's alot of fun, The food is good, the prices resonable and you can stay there all night, they are not turning your table over if your reservations is at 8:00 or after. When you make the reservation ask for the Back Room.
Sammy's Roumanian Steakhouse
I would stick with La Mela, I food is good, the prices are resonable, and now they have a liquor license.

Date of Ferragusto (sp)festival on Arthur Ave
I went with my husband and had a great time, We had lunch at Pasquale's, Rigi and the Gang were singing, and when they were on break, they had Italian music playing from the stand next to the restaurant. We saw Dominick Chainese (Uncle Junior from the Soprano's) singing on the main stage, Federico Castelluccio (Furio, from the Soprano's) was there also. It was a great day, Great Food, Good Wine and Music, What more is there!!!!!!!!
