Depending where you're located there's Butterfield Market on Lex and 78... Yura, Madison and 92 or even Fresh Direct on line.

Decent Italian that delivers UES?
I've only eaten in the restaurant itself... so can't really say. (Our main delivery is chinese and
Indian......)
Thanksgiving Dinner catering, need some help.....

fishmonger UES
The fish dept at Citarella is great and about 10 times the size of Dorian's. (She's an alumna of the late great lamented Rosedale.) However all her stuff is top drawer.... can't imagine better crab cakes (even tho I have to take out a loan to buy them -:)
fishmonger UES
The best fish is at Dorian's on York Avenue....between 83 and 84th. Very expensive and they do deliver.

FAIRWAY UPPER EAST opens this Wed the 20th at 11am!!!
I've never shopped at Fairway. Can I take my shopping cart? (Can't carry due to neck problems.)
Meeting place for group in central Manhattan
Unknown at this point. Probably between 10 -20. Also would be on a Thursday night.
Meeting place for group in central Manhattan
A group of people from an internet board (most of whom have never met) want to meet for drinks in the fall. Suggestions have been the Campbell Apartment and some places in the 80's. The group seems to be drawn from the greater metropolitan area. Any suggestions for a central location like the Campbell (which sounds like it might be too noisy, etc.) that would be convenient for most people in town or traveling from the burbs?

Help! Looking for a medium priced restaurant in the midtown west area ( 54th - 58th, 8th or 9th ave)
You might check out the Red Eye Grill at 56th and 7th... it's a large place with nice food.

Good Food Shopping near 88th and York
Ottomanelli is at 82nd and York. For good... but expensive fish.... there is Dorian's on York between 83rd and 84th. The best prices for wine, etc. are Yorkshire Liquors at 1st and 85th. A good old fashioned bakery is Glaser's on First near 87th Street. The Gristedes at York and 86th is good for staples... but otherwise a pretty dreadful store.
When all else fails there's Fresh Direct!

Ice Cream Cake
I used to get a yummy cake at Haagen Daz. (sp?) Vanilla fudge with fudge icing. Our local store disappeared but I think there is one on First AVe. near 64th Street
Suggestions - Upper East Side
Sunday morning... if he wants a big breakfast/brunch... he should go to Eli's Vinegar Factory just around he corner on 91st between York and 1st.On the second floor there's a rather rustic spot serving delicious stuff at the usual Eli price. -:)

Cafe Evergreen near 69th and 1st has decent Chinese. But their dim sum is especially good. Good for delivery, etc. and their wine is decent.

food shopping ideas 76th and FIrst
Eli's is at 80th and Third Avenue.....and his bread can't be beat. Dorian is expensive.... but worth it. (She's a Rosedale alumna. ) And Dorian, herself, is an absolutely delightful person.
restaurant suggestions near 76th and first ave
On 69th and First... Cafe Evergreen. Decent Chinese... but best for dim sum. You could make a meal of the dim sum. Also.. decent wine. And you could pick up lots of good food at Agata and Valentina on 1st and 79th.

Visiting Upper East Side - restaurant suggestion? Sushi?
If all this info boggles the mind and at the end of the day your just tired and hungry... go around the corner to York Grill on 89th and York. Nothing special,.. but good food in a pleasant atmosphere.
Or, if you have the energy to walk... Cafe d'Alsace on 2nd and 88th. (Beer and French.)

New ideas for NYC food gifts that can travel well.
My friends all like Eli's Parmesan Crisps. There are other flavors as well.. but I've never tried them. Recently, I served some with drinks to a friend from LA and told her the rest of the package was hers. I noted the next day it was carefullly stowed in her luggage. I buy them at The Vinegar Factory on 91st st... and I'm sure they're available at Eli's on 3rd and 80th.

Lunch in the Upper East
There are no reasonably priced restaurants on Park or Fifth. However, you might find something on Madison Avenue. There are several decent delis along the way...Viand in the 60's and between 78th and 79th. They're known for their fresh turkey sandwiches. On Madison near 78th is Ambroeus .... high class Italian but with gelato and some pastries up front. If you get up to 91st and Mad , Yura between 91 and 92 has yummy stuff. Try to avoid the 3 o'clock hour when all the nearby schools dismiss.
East Midtown lunch tomorrow...help?
Correction... the rest. is between 3rd and 2nd.... which makes it a little more accessible for you.
East Midtown lunch tomorrow...help?
I'm not familiar with a gluten diet... but could you tolerate Indian food? Dawat, between Lex and 3rd on 58th has a great lunch special. They offer four menus.. mostly under $20. As I recall there is vegetarian option. since most of their lunch biz seems to be take out there's no problem with reservations. E'en so, the atmosphere is very pleasant.

UES: Trying to find the take-out place on 2nd or 3d with great-looking food on the window... probably Italian
Across from Eli's at 3rd and 80th is (if I recall correctly) Maria's Kitchen. It's expensive but very good.
Business Trip (UES; E 92nd and 1st) -- Recommendation near hotel?
gutsofsteel..... pardone moi. -:) (Sorry for the misspellings.. My French is non existent.) When I last visited France those in the Alsace did seem to feel they were French (at least for the time being -:) Probably I was wrong to use the term brasserie, but Cafe D'Alsace is not your typical upper East Side place. I think our visitor might find it a pleasant experience. York Grill is not a destination restaurant,, but we in this woe begone neighborhood are thankful that it's there.

A nice place nearby at 89th and York is York Grill.
Sfoglia gets rave reviews but you need reservations weeks in advance.
A little bit of a walk will take you to Cafe D'Alsace at 88th and 2nd Ave. As typical a French brasserie as you can get in Nueva Yorka. They're known for their beer selection.

Quiet, low key restaurant for parents in midtown east, UES
Any chance they'd be interested in refined Indian food? Dawat between 2nd and 3rd on 58th has good food and a very pleasant atmosphere. We like JoJo but my husband always frets that he's the only man in the joint wearing a tie -:) I've never noticed anyone really "dressed up."
