the ever popular "how's this itinerary look" post

I'll second Coquette. Had a wonderful meal there two weeks ago. Wonderful oysters and a nice filet of drum. Had kids with us and they made a hanger steak (wish it was on my menu) and fries. Call ahead, not many tables on the 2 floors.

Looking for a more classic Italian restaurant

Any suggestions near Navy Pier or the Field Museum?

Cafe Spiaggia, Cocco Pazzo, and Piccolo Signo are a little too contemporary for my taste.

Anyone been to Gautreau's in the last few months?

Had a wonderful meal in 2008.
Curious if anyone has had similar experience more recently?

Anyone been to Mona Lisa in the Quarter recently?

Used to be a nice spot for me several years ago.
I rarely look for Italian.
Been to Irene's and like it.
However, with 2 kids this weekend I thought of Mona Lisa's on Royal.
I wanted to see if anyone has been there in the last year.

Thanks,

Joe

Brunch spot - food focus, jazz not important

Take a look at Luke's Brunch menu. I found it to be one of my favorites.
I am a CP fan as well. However, Luke had several different price ranges that can accomodate a wide array of diners.

Bar Food and nice Happy Hour deals?

Looking for a few spots uptown, warehouse, or downtown for happy hour deals.
Bar food is fine. Have late dinner at Clancy's (Fri.) and Galatoire's (Sat.)

Sorry this post is more about drinks than food.

Familiar with NOLA just don't know which spots are good for late afternoon.

Lunch and Drinks before the Saints Game

Any suggestions for a lunch spot before this Sunday's Saints game?

With a group of eight and don't want a big meal.

Love Mandina's, but we have been there the last three games.
Love the Bulldog, but looking a little closer.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Rio Mar reviews?

My wife and I will be in town next week for anniversary and wanted to try two new spots (for us.)
Galatoire's is invariably one of our spots along with Clancy's or Brigsten's.
We are locked in with Stella one evening.
Rio Mar has peaked our interest for sometime and we have yet to visit.
Any opinions one way or another on recent experiences at Rio Mar?

Catering for Easter

My family will be in New Orleans Friday and Saturday(10th,11th.)
However, we will not have time to cook for Easter Sunday.
Any ideas on places I could call for good food to bring back to Fairhope, AL?
We will be uptown , downtown, and in the Crescent City classic area.

New Orleans top restaurants

onetimer,

Tell me a lttile about The Grocery. I haven't heard much about it.

Galatoire's enthusiasts.

I visit Galatoire's around five times a year. However, I am a creature of habit.
I order the same items everytime I go there.
Grand Goute', Oysters en brochette, and the recommendation of my waiter for the fresh fish.
Going with three couples this weekend and wanted to know if I have missed any of their wonderful dishes.
What are some of your favorite items on their menu?

Joe

NOLA dinner and College Football

Three couples will be in town for a weekend.
Galatoire's on Friday night.
Wide open for Saturday.
Any ideas on where we can go Saturday night for some good food and college football?
Thanks,

Joe

Dinner Recommendations for Family

Taking my family to the Saints game Saturday night.
Can I get some recommendations for good food that kids might enjoy the atmosphere or surroundings?
Last places we took them were:
Liuzza's
Redfish Grill
Palace Cafe(which was horrible)

Can be any price range.

Thanks,

Joe

3 Guys In Town For Fishing
