Servers in sit-downs usually pool tips (another practice I don't believe in) so the dollar or 2 that makes you feel good doesn't amount to much when split amongst the other waitrons, and I would consider it insanity to tip a full 15 or 20 percent for someone just to take my money, and there is just not the involvement and time in processing a takeout vs. table service. I don't buy into the whole unsung hero garbage of wait staff. You want to really help someone, and give a tip to someone who could really use it? How about the poor ecuadorian line cook slaving away 12 hours a day |

Do you tip at a place like Mcd's, or a sub chain where they even make the sandwich for you? Of course not...No tip at takeout |

I bought Petria a few months ago, mainly because I liked the can. Took a chance, as I had never heard of it either. I found it very similar to Pompeian, my go to olive oil. How much were they asking? |

Help me win a "best burger" cookoff! I think how it's cooked is way more important than the accessories. Over hardwood charcoal, toasted bun...the rest is fru-fru...But save me as little bacon, Kevin! |

Carvel & Real Soft Serve [split from L.A.] Soft serve, bleah! And those flavorless carvel cakes that were around when I was growing up. I'd take baskin robbins over ANY softserve anyday |

Old thread, I know, but there's a cookoff in Somers tomorrow |

tahini, sage and tarragon. definitely a little messy, but no more so than a flour, eggwash, breadcrumb coating routine. it's a keeper. made sandwiches from the leftovers yesterday |

Good delivered pizza in New Haven, CT? Good delivered pizza = mutually exclusive. I grew up in the area and know it well, so for pizza's sake, take the walk, air! |

No! Say it isn't so? Where else to get good ice cream around here? And no, soft serve doesn't count, bleah! |

To Rinse or Not to Rinse...Chicken I always rinsed chicken, out of habit, mostly. Then got to thinking recently about cross-contamination, and all, and rationally I see no benefit. I have to say, though, Biscuitboy, when I clean up, everything gets doused with my 'sanitizing solution'. Capful of bleach in one of those industrial type spray bottles, then hot soapy water. Makes me feel better. |

Gilbert's in Glastonbury, or my grill in the backyard....Strip or porterhouse, no bland filet! |

Mine stay on the shelf above the stove. I would think the cold may dull the flavor? |
