SRO caterers in Scarsdale, any recommendations yay or nay?
SRO has catered two 160 person luncheons, numerous dinners, etc. for my family. They are delightful to work with and the food has always been excellent.
Ethnic eats close to New Roc City or Cross County movie theatres
Close to New Roc, try the Little Mexican Cafe on Main Street -- far better than La Herradura (the chicken enchiladas with mole are excellent) -- or Rangoli, very good Indian also on Main Street.
Cornell Graduation Dinner
The Statler is really convenient, but the food is average at best.
Cornell Graduation Dinner
Willow is the most special - nicest atmosphere, fine service. Dijon is a true bistro - bread on the table, etc. Pangea is more "Ithaca" - funky.
Extreme Foodies Seeking Down and Dirty
Fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade, the drum (a Gulf white fish)with habanero sauce, and the bread pudding. My wife had the barbecued shrimp which were also delicious.
Cornell Graduation Dinner
Most of the good Ithaca restaurants have "special menus" (read $50 or $60 prix fixe) for Cornell graduation. That said, I would recommend Willow (new American), Dijon (French bistro) or Pangea (eclectic American).
Best Eats in Ithaca
Willow is outstanding. Dijon and Pangea are my other two favorites in Ithaca.
upperline - what to order, veg option?
Just returned from NOLA and the best meal in a week was at Upperline. The fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade and the drum with habanero sauce were outstanding, as was the bread pudding for dessert. Great atmosphere and service too.
Extreme Foodies Seeking Down and Dirty
Just back from New Orleans -- Rock & Bowl is awesome. The two best meals I had were at Upperline and Dante's Kitchen -- neither one is too far from Roch & Bowl.
Need a rec for a restaurant to host a party for 50-75 people
Lusadi's in Larchmont will give you half the restaurant for a party that size -- I had a birthday party for my wife there. And on Saturday afternoon, there won't be many folks in the other half of the restaurant. Good food, service and atmosphere.
Financial District Lunch?
I need a restaurant to take eight business associates to lunch tomorrow in the Broadway/Wall Street area -- good food, not too pricey, not too noisy. Any suggestions?
Weddings with great food
My daughter was married at Tappan Hill in October. It could not have been more ideal, with the a spectacular setting, outstanding food and superb service. Kathy Policastro handled our event and is a superstar.
Tarry Lodge menu..........
The appetizers are small, the pasta size is average, the pizzas are six large slices. The speck, tallegio, radicchio and olive pizza is excellent. The linguine with clams is outstanding, and the fussuli crazy bastard is also very good. The burrata is good, but not as creamy as I've had elsewhere. On the appetizer side, the blood orange and fennel and the octopus were both good. I would share two or three appetizers, a pasta, a pizza and order at least one vegetable (the brussels sprouts and broccoli rabe are both outstanding.)
If you're a wine drinker, the least expensive (Joe's red) is drinkable and I don't think there's a need to spend more with this type of food.
ISO: Dinner near Brooklyn Law
Noodle Pudding is terrific and much more reasonably priced than Queen. Note that it's cash only - don't want you embarrassed on a date.

any hidden gems in ithaca?
Willow is excellent -- quiet, classy, with inventive and top-quality food and service. Dijon is a bistro with authentic food and good service. Both are off Route 13 in strip mall locations. Also try Pangea -- more inconsistent than the first two, but when it's on, a close third.
