Alternative to Peach Farm?

I would also recommend Hong Kong Eatery for very good roast meats and Winsor Cafe for dim sum.

Dog friendly outdoor dining

We have taken our golden retriever to the patio at Cambridge Brewing Company a few times and have had no problems at all.

Best Authentic Thai Restaurants around Boston

S&I is my favorite place in Boston.

Rod Dee in Brookline has excellent Thai food as well - I find their noodle dishes to be outstanding.

Any suggestions for a site for a wedding brunch (the day following the wedding) in Madison, WI? We are looking to accommodate approximately 50 people.

Any authentic Korean around here?

I think Korean restaurants in Boston are decent but certainly not great. One of the main things that always seems to be sub-par is the quality of the panchan, especially the kimchi. I still have not been to a Korean restaurant in Boston that serves excellent kimchi, which to me is a marker of a really good Korean restaurant.

2010 CSA Choice

We just signed up for our first year with Red Fire Farm. I am very excited - I was thinking about doing the fruit share but decided to just do the vegetable share this season.

The South End

Toro is a Spanish tapas place. Their burger is fantastic - ask for it messy and grab a lot of napkins.

Where to find pork belly [was "Barbecuing pork belly"]

We bought some pork belly from Savenor's and made some sam gyeop sul last night. Turned out really well - the pork belly was so crisp on the outside and tender and fatty in the inside.

Flour Bakery and Cafe Coming to Cambridge

Thank god it's not Clear Flour. Between stuffing my face with the sticky buns from Clear Flour and ice cream from Toscanini's, I'd have a heart attack by 40.

Recommendations for Wedding Rehearsal Dinner in Madison WI?

My fiance and I are getting married in Madison, WI in September 2010 near the Capital and were wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding?

We are hoping for a restaurant with a private room, not too formal, with vegetarian and fish options. We are thinking of having approximately 30-40 people at the dinner and are hoping to stay around $20-30 pp.

Any suggestions 'hounds?

Terrible Service at Atasca!

I made a reservation for 7:15 on a Saturday night at Atasca. Our party arrived at 7:20 pm. The host claimed that our reservation was for 7 pm and so could not hold our table. I tried to tell him that we had made our reservation for 7:15 and was only 5 minutes late. He then replied what would they do if you were at an airport and were 5 minutes late? I was pretty amazed that a host would say something like this to guests. We were prepared to wait for a table but after this type of service, we left rather quickly and went down the street to Portugalia.

Has anyone else had bad service at Atasca or was this just an off night? I personally will never go back to this restaurant.

best pizza in boston area

Gran Gusto in Cambridge makes a tasty pizza pie. We had the magherita and sorrentina pizzas last time we were there and they were both delicious.

Best coffee in Harvard or Central

Toscanini's on Main St in Central makes fantastic coffee. They also have a nice brunch menu on Sat and Sunday.

Favorite spots in town to watch the game with good chow?

Deep Ellum in Brighton/Allston -- the food is pretty good, the beer selection is excellent (albeit fairly expensive), and the environment is pretty relaxed. Granted they only have 2 TV's set up, but I've always liked coming here.

Restaurants everyone seems to love but you don't

Cantina La Mexicana - the owner was very friendly, but their food was so bland. The burrito was 90% rice, 10% chicken, with no vegetables or flavor at all. The quesadilla was tortillas and cheese, again nothing else. Their prices were very reasonable, but the food was definitely not very memorable.

Restaurants in Fenway?

My girlfriend and I are taking her brother to the North Dakota - Harvard hockey game on Saturday evening. The hockey arena is in Fenway and we would like to go out to dinner in the area beforehand.

We would like a comfortable restaurant, possibly a bar or pub type of setting to get some food and drinks before the game. Does anyone have any recommendations in the area?

Dinner Ideas for Girlfriend/Parents

My parents and my girlfriend's parents will be coming to Boston on August 15th which is also my gf's birthday. This is the first time our parents will be meeting. Restaurant week just so happens to fall on that Friday.

I know the list of restaurants participating in restaurant week has not been released, but does anyone have any ideas of places that have participated in the past and would be nice to go to?

Her parents are not adventurous eaters and so sushi is out. My parents do not like places that are loud. Would prefer to stay in Boston/Cambridge but could venture outside if there is something very nice. Other than that, I don't think we have any restrictions.
