Epcot (or Magic Kingdom) dining in the park

Cat Cora's new restaurant, Kouzzina, at the Boardwalk resort (near Epcot) is very good-we ate there twice last week. Mediterranean. The Flying Fish at the Boardwalk is also very good. My two favorites at Epcot are the french restaurants and the Rose and Crown in England (very casual and typical fish n chips shepard's pie fare-maybe too casual). I hear the Canadian steakhouse is great but apparently difficult to get reservations. There isn't much in the Magic Kingdom that is a standout. If you wanted to make the trip to Hollywood Studios the Brown Derby is also very good. Didn't care for the Italian at Epcot last time we ate there 2 years ago.

Food Network show looking for your favorite outrageous food

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm also interested in restaurants featuring "nose to tail" menus.

Thanks for the suggestions. And yes, the food must be good.

Food Network show looking for your favorite outrageous food

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll take a look at them all. I had come across Hell Night - a few others have already made it on to various network shows. It is true that a lot of restaurants have added challenges and odd dishes to their menus to perhaps attract attention of network programming, but it brings in business according to some of the owners I've spoken with. There are plenty of blogs out there dedicated to the amateur eating challenges at these restaurants. More power to them if it helps another independent restaurant stay in business. Thanks again. I'll check back for more suggestions.

Thanks for all your suggestions. We're not going down the "fear factor" road, but big, spicy, unusual without crossing the line of offending a particular culture.

Thanks again for all the suggestions. I would rather not look at anything that has already been featured and we are being sensitive to food that may be unusual to us but is clearly a cultural dish-we don't want to offend. I will certainly look into them all. I appreciate all the feedback! If a location is not a fit for this show it may be a fit for other shows that we produce.

Delicious over the top food-interesting combos of flavors. We won't cross the line on some of the exotic dishes because we do not want to be insulting to a particular culture. We have considered "head to tail" restaurants utilizing parts of animals in various dishes one would not usually find on a menu. Certainly over the top on size is of interest. Hot dogs with 30 choices of unusual toppings-unusual flavors of ice cream. Ideally most items are made from scratch (sauces, ice cream). We're not trying to imitate Bourdain or Zimmern. There are a lot of restaurants self promoting right now with food challenges and crazy food combinations.

Thank you! I did see one of those Korean places featured on Chef vs. City. That was pretty crazy. I'll take a look at Cliffhanger. Thanks again!

I've used this board for personal suggestions and respect the opinions of those who post here.

To further clarify-I am interested in culinary. I am deliberately being vague because I want any and all suggestions. It can be upscale and it can be a pizza or burger joint. I've seen plenty of discussions about the best burger, best pizza and best fine dining. I'd like to keep it completely open to suggestions keeping in mind that there is the element of "out of this world eats." Thanks much!

The chocolate place looks great.

Yes I am looking for too big to eat, too hot to eat, unique food combinations and would like to hear about what people think is outrageous and unique-all suggestions-not limited to the world's largest burrito. This is meant to be entertaining and fun. We are not looking for a culinary excellence although if it fits great. There are plenty of other shows that focus on culinary.

Thank you for your suggestions. All are appreciated.

Buffalo

Thank you!

Buffalo

I'm looking for restaurant suggestions in Buffalo that are more off of the beaten track. Interesting food, homemade, dive-like setting. Anchor and a few other places are well known-I'm looking for original good homemade food. Thanks.

South 21 Drive in Charlotte

Hey folks,

I need your opinions on the South 21 Drive-in. I see they made George Motz's book on Hamburgers. Are they a really good? Also, how is the chicken? We're making an intinerary on hamburgers spots to stop and and would love to stop at a working drive-in that is still serving exceptional food. Thanks much!

Chaps Pit Beef - Not Impressed

Also, the flavor comes from the charcoal. I think folks have become so used to crap processed that the real thing they don't get. The bun has to be soft, ick to the stiff hamburger type bun. At Chaps, everything they make with respect to meats is done daily. Yum. I loved the subtle hint of the charcoal flavor on the beef. Reminds me of the great beef sandwiches I used to be able to get at what are now franchises like Arby's.

Chaps Pit Beef - Not Impressed

I'm really not sure we read the same thing written by Henry Hong. They do not use processed meat at Chaps and it is one of few places doing pit beef correctly using charcoal versus a gas grill. I disagree on all levels. I like their pit beef. Also, I don't think any Food Network show has he funding to be sending an advance team to taste all the places they're considering featuring. They can only rely on the local folks they talk to and professional folks who review food for recommendations. Geesh.
