Would love a chowhound recommendation for a great lunch near the Barnes. And has anyone been to the restaurant in the Barnes, if so worth going to? |

went right when it opened in April, service was absolutely horrendous. Our meal took 3 hrs!!! granted it was opening week and they just hadn't figured it out, hope they've gotten their act together. the food was fine, I do remember it being very salty. we didn't actually get everything we ordered (but did get the food that was ordered from other tables) so kind of hard to review the food |

My husband and I are planning on spending 3 nights in Nantucket at the end of July, staying at the Wauwinet. Haven't been in 16 years so I know the restaurant scene has changed. Which are the 3 best restaurants we should choose for our dinners? I'm having a hard time deciding, seem to be a lot of good choices! |

Stopped by this new restaurant in the East Village last night for dinner. Great little spot with some serious cooking. Loved the spreads on the menu, think I might have dreamed about the Brandade spread last night! came with delicious chunks of bread, coated with olive oil and grilled. lentil spread was also really delicious. have a feeling the chicken liver spread is excellent but probably very rich. We sampled a couple more small plates the beets and broccoli rabe, enjoye both (we were on a bit of an eating mania last night!) Main course had the cod which sat on fava beans, asparagus and scallions (??) in a broth, delicious but maybe a tad too salty. My husband liked the pasta w/peas. also tried the choc chip cookies with choc mousse sandwiched in between -- would have preferred ice cream in the middle, mousse was a bit overly sweet for me. thought the Banana bread pudding w/ice cream was the perfect comfort food ending. Restaurant has a great neighborhood feel. curious to know if anyone else has been? ----- |

Help me narrow down restaurant choices for 3 nights in Miami I think that we will go to Michael's, either Sra. or Michy's depending upon our mood and then Talula. I can always count on fellow chowhounders for great advice!! and Dagny, you make a good point ... always good to go with the flow of the moment! |

Help me narrow down restaurant choices for 3 nights in Miami NY Foodies spending 3 nights in Miami. Staying at the W, we will have a car so not restricted to South Beach. Have a reservation at Michael's, which I've been dying to try. Went 2 yrs ago to Michy's and LOVED it, can't decide whether to go back there or try Sra. Martinez instead? and for the 3rd night would you recommend Talula, Area 31, Pacific Time??? or somewhere else that really stands out for the food??? we don't want to go to any restaurants that we can go to in NY (like Scarpetta, Nobu, etc..) Just went to Hakassan in London so can skip that too. Your advice is much appreciated!! |

City Limits closed Westchester Mall I second the restaurant at Neiman's -- the popovers are especially yummy. I also like that they give you a demitasse cup of chicken broth when you sit down. |

Went on Saturday night -- 2 couples -- and we all loved it!!! It was so refreshing to have some interesting flavors, a welcome departure from a "market fresh entree prepared simply." It was so great to have some truly tasty food!! My favorite dish was the snapper on banana leaf in broth. The shrimp starter was very good too -- don't let them take the plate away too quickly b/c you will want to sop up the extra sauce with the delicious za'atar bread. The service was a bit over-zealous -- they kept taking our plates away when there was still a bite left . I had the ginger-beer mojito, so good I had two (which I rarely do.) Desserts were good but not too memorable ... but everything else was stellar!! |
