Restaurants Near HOB in Gas Lamp
Going to House of Blues next weekend & looking for a place for dinner before the show. I have read some of the threads about the Gaslamp and it doesn't look like there is much that Chowhounders are excited about in this area.
Any suggestions? Is food at HOB worthy? I had one person recommend it to me recently.
We'd love to be able to walk if possible... but if there truly isn't anything in the area, we are willing to drive a short way.
Also heard good things about Merk. Is this within walking distance??

Mastro's Newport Beach
Looking into Mastro's NB for this weekend while in OC. Looks great. I'll be in from out of town and looking forward to trying this place. Looks like they have several rooms to choose from. I'm not sure if I can make it for sunset- so not sure a window table is that important. Any suggestions on which room to make reservations for? I'll be taking my father to dinner and want to have a great experience.

Breakfast in Orange County
If I were to have one great breakfast in OC this weekend (staying near Laguna Hills but don't mind driving) where would I go? Will be in town for a few days, and only have one day I can really enjoy a nice relaxing breakfast. After reading a lot of posts it looks like it is between Ramos House and Break of Dawn. Opinions? How are the Bloody Mary's at each place-- that could be my deciding factor!
