Chiltern Firehouse

I have worked on and off in the industry and still currently do at what was voted best restaurant best new restaurant in London and I can say without fail that I hated every single second of being inside Chiltern Firehouse. The staff were obnoxious, rude, snobby, unfriendly. The wine list STARTED AT 90 pounds a bottle (i also have my diploma in wine and let me tell ya..) I hate how in this country restaurants like that can flourish with such incredible attitude as if you as a patron are doing the staff a favour. Stuff like that would never fly in north america...

Budapest modern and innovative

Costes was amazing especially with the wine pairings. Extremely attentive staff, and value for money cannot be beat.

London Trip Recommendations For Mid to Late April

you're so close to borough market I would spend SO much time there. If you're there during a weekend Southbank Center has a great Real food market which is great for cheap eats also.

Thoughts on my Copenhagen plans?

kiln kiln was spectacular. Absolutely delicious, very hospitable, and the food was spot on great room as well. Lele does a really good job of not expensive really good seasonal authentic thai/vietnamese as well if you are interested in those things. Uformal which is the sister restaurant to one Michelin B formal was also a great experience. Unpretentious deliciously presented food.

Restaurant Recs for Coppenhagen, Denmark

KiinKiin is 1 michelin starred and INCREDIBLE....I think truly under rated and an immense experience. Also, for casual LeLe does some great traditional Vietnamese food but with good sourced Danish ingredients. Check out I love Sushi at Torellhaven as well...I'm from BC and even then the sushi was great

OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR 28 -need a private room with large table

Many if not all of the glowbal group restaurants can accomdate large groups. Both gotham and hys steakhouse have private rooms (gotham having multiple) and reasonable set menus. If not try the banquet room of hotels or even something like kirin or sun sui wah for something different?

Ramsey's restaurants in London

there isn't any particular reason I asked for Ramsey only suggestions...other than to narrow the pot! I am open to suggestions. I will be staying near the Tower Bridge but am wholly unfamiliar with London at all. Also, i would like to stay away from seafood, or japanese suggestions as we get a lot of that in Vancouver.

First time in London..from Vancouver

Hi there...going to London in November staying in the Marlyn Lodge right by London tower. I have never been...and need help!! Most recommendations espouse all the available ethnic foods but coming from vancouver we get alot of exposure to that. What I'm looking for is a gastropub...lots of beer, interesting food, some real english grub (hopefully including a full english breakfast) best fish n chips..you get the idea! Nothing chinese, or japanese related and certainly not seafood (as these are the things I work with on a daily basis.) Are there such things as happy hour in london as well?

Top Chef Texas - Ep. #11 - 01/18/12 (Spoilers)

grilling halibut and then putting it in a saute pan with butter is the culinary equivalent of braising a really nice piece of filet in red wine...
stupid and pointless...
both proteins are so lean that they will inevitably be dry and over-cooked regardless of Bev's cooking abilities.
