Help! Rehearsal Dinner in Richmond - Ideas Needed

We will be hosting a rehearsal dinner for about 60 next Sept, and loved the looks of Julep's, but their maximum for a seated meal is 50. Our priority is the food, but historic/local atmosphere is important too. Saw rave reviews of Roosevelt, but don't know if they do private events (I've emailed to find out). Also looked at CanCan and Comfort.

Are there some lovely venus where catering would be possible?

Since I've only visited Richmond very briefly, any help would be very much appreciated.

traditional tex mex enchiladas with raw chopped white onions impossible to find almost in Texas now!!

Maudie's in Austin has this type of enchilada. Excellent!

Chianti suggestions?

Two of our favorites are: La Cantinetta di Rignana, deep in the countryside outside Greve, and Osteria alla Piazza, outside Castellina. Both are worth planning a day around, with beautiful outside areas and spectacular views of the vineyards.

Vegetarian Options at Canteen

I know the menu is very limited -- is there always at least one vegetarian choice?
Is there a different menu each evening?

Thanks for your help.

Would I need to make reservations at Zuni for a Friday evening around 10?

Thanks again!

Dinner after arrival - Union Square area

We were thinking of walking, but a short taxi ride would be OK too. Thanks for the suggestion of Sultan -- I'll look into it!

Dinner after arrival - Union Square area

We will be arriving at our hotel on Union Square around 9:30 on a Friday night in March, after a long flight from Austin (and working all day before that). This is our first trip to California! We plan to head to the Ferry Building early the next morning.

I need help finding a close, informal place to get a light dinner after our arrival. We'd like to save the most memorable places for when we're not so tired, so someplace simple would be great. Vegie-friendly would be great too,

Thanks fo ryour help!

Jefferson Hotel Richmond -- Sunday Brunch

We'll be in Richmond in Dec. for our son's graduation. We're staying at the Jefferson Hotel, and are considering making reservations for the Sunday Brunch there. I'm wondering if the food lives up to the reputedly festive surroundings, and whether it is worth the price.

Any other celebratory Richmond recommendations would be great.

Thanks so much.

Richmond, VA: Birthday Cake Delivery

My son is in college in Richmond and it's his first birthday away from home. I'd love some recommendations for bakeries which deliver, so that I can send him a cake. He loves Italian creme and anything chocolate.

Thanks so much -- any and all suggestions appreciated!

Time-crunch lunch between Gallerie Borghese and Scavi Tour

Thanks for the great information. We'll do a grab-it-and-go lunch and then have a leisurely dinner. Now I just need to decide which restaurant to pick from my list. This is more complicated because my husband will just have 2 nights in Rome (I'll be staying a week) and we'd love an outdoor dinner with great food in the Pantheon/Navonna/Trasevere area. I know this kind of question is old hat on this board, so I'm off to do some research among old posts!

Time-crunch lunch between Gallerie Borghese and Scavi Tour

On a Friday in late May, we'll be finishing our 2 hr. session at the Borghese at 11:00 and heading towards the Vatican for a Scavi tour at 1:45. Should we try to fit in a restaurant meal, and if so, where? I've read great reviews of Osteria dell Angelo near the Vatican.

Or would it be wiser to have a pannini or take-out? Any recommendations between these two locations?

Thanks for your help!

Santa Fe -- quick easy dinner after late arrival?

Thanks for all the great ideas. We will swing by Harry's on our way into town and check out the wait time, and then visit the other recommendations during our stay.

Santa Fe -- quick easy dinner after late arrival?

We will be arriving in Santa Fe around 7 pm on a Friday evening and checking into the El Rey on Cerrillos Rd. We need recommendations on a mom and pop type NM restaurant where we could have an uncomplicated dinner after a very long drive from Texas.

We've been in Santa Fe many times, and can't think of a place that wouldn't have long waits, complicated parking, etc. Would love to try Harry's Roadhouse but I've read that the waits can be very long on weekend evenings.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
