Berger Cookies?
I know this is an old post but I remember the cookies you are talking about. My father used to bring home a pound of the mixed cookies. Another type was the jelly cookie with jelly in between two of the cake cookies. The cakes at the Lexington Market still come with the strawberry topping but no lemon or butter rum (they had a white topping). Next time I go I'll ask why they stopped making the cookies.

Guinness Beer in Baltimore...
Duda's in Fells Point has it on draught and they tend to be reasonably priced. Friends from Ireland wouldn't order it over here because of the comments made by JRCann. A friend of mine was in Ireland earlier this year and a pint over there was 5 euros when the exchange rate was $1.6 or $8 for a pint.

Duda's in Fells Point. I second the nod to Matthews. In addition to the pizza, they have great Italian cold cuts. The Samurai Sushi man at Cross Street Market has good, cheap specials. Maria's in Timonium has 1/2 price pizzas on Sundays and Mondays - not the greatest, but for half off, it is pretty good.
Dizzy Issie's closing?
This was in the Sun on Wednesday
THE DIZZ TO REOPEN
Fans of Dizzy Issie's in Remington have been worried about their favorite bar, whose future seemed somewhat uncertain, given that it's been closed for much of the summer. Dizzy Issie's has been sold, I learned from the liquor board. The new owners are Darlene Basta and Angela Kelly.
The bar is scheduled to reopen Aug. 4.

Jimmy's in Fells Point (not too far off 95) is consistently good. Here is a review from the local newspaper. http://www.baltimoresun.com/features/booksmags/59798,0,1062229.location?coll=bal-books-utility
A DC Native's Top Personal Picks
I've never been to Dixie Bones but I like Rocklands in Georgetown and Rockville. For economical Italian I prefer Olaazo in Bethesda. Crisfield's crab cakes are fair but their crab salad sandwich is out of this world.

I don't think there is. We go to Parkway (Grubb St) every Tue for lunch and it is great. Hostess/Waitresses are very friendly and accommodating.
GREAT BARBEQUE IN DC AREA/NORTHERN VA??
My lunch crowd from Bethesda likes to go to Rocklands (north georgetown/rockville) and Urban BBQ in Rockville.
Classic snowball place in Baltimore?
I agree with the other posters. The "best" come and go. For years our favorite was My T Fine on Joppa Rd in Carney but they shut down last year and it is now called Friendly's which is good not great. We also liked Jay's but they shut down two years ago. We bought a Hawaiian ice shaver and we make our own. We buy the supplies from Koldkiss off of central ave. in Little Italy(koldkiss.com). My favorite is egg custard with marshmallow.

Jay's is/was Hawaiian style. They closed up in 2006. The last time I saw Jay he was the barista at the coffee shop outside the Towson library. Snoasis would fit into the New Orleans style described above.
