Cheap, Chow-ish Eats near GBMC

My wife and I are going to be spending a lot of time in and around the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) over the next couple of weeks (Childbirth Classes, Baby Delivery, etc). Does anyone have some cheap, chow-ish, possibly ethnic recommendations for quick dinners/lunches?

Thanks in advance!

Luca Cafe Locust Point - First impressions are very good

The wife and I (based on Warthog's glowing rec) decided to try Luca's on Thursday Night - We were NOT disappointed. We started with "The Dip" which is a fantastic take on traditional crab dip. Highly recommended. For our main entree, we gave "The Fold" a try...basically it was a calzone (with the thin neopolitan crust) chocked full of Broccoli Rabe, Sausage, Peppers and Ricotta Cheese. Really "light" tasting.

As previously posted, the wine/beer list was a shaky, but we ended up trying a bottle ($18) of Cannonball Cab.

There were some small problems with service, but I fully expect the service will mature with time. After all, it was only their second night being open...

Be sure to give Luna's a try!

Baby Shower Brunch in Baltimore

Need a good rec for a Baby Shower Brunch spot in Baltimore. My wife would love to have a private room and the option to order from the menu for the guests. We're trying to keep it budget conscious, so let's shoot for $15/person or less. Preferably less....

Thanks!

Baltimore 'Hound coming to Duluth, GA

I'll be in Duluth, GA the latter portion of this week for a conference at the Gwinnett Center. (Catalyst Conference, anyone going?) Anywho, looking for some can't miss dinner and lunch recommendations. I noticed that a quick search of the board didn't offer much in the way of suggestions, so I would appreciate any help.

I am primarily looking for good "local" food, but a good Sushi rec wouldn't hurt either...

Thanks!

Crispo? (Baltimore 'Hound Needs Advice)

Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate your help.
I get the feeling that Crispo may not be as romanic as I had hoped, so If any one has a suggestion of a slightly more romantic venue for Italian cuisine, please let me know. Thanks again!

Crispo? (Baltimore 'Hound Needs Advice)

My wife and I will be spending a few days at the Jersey shore and before we head back to Maryland, we want to hit NYC for her birthday dinner. I currently have reservations for Crispo this Saturday night.

We are looking for a delicious and romantic (Italian) dinner, have I selected the right place?? We aren't looking to break the bank, but do want a nice atmostphere and memorable food.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Ras Doobie's Closed??

I am planning my first trip to Ras Doobie's tomorrow (Wednesday) night. I decided to call Ras Doobie's to double check what days/hours they are open. The message on the answering machine is nearly indecipherable, but sounds like he says they are closed this week, can anyone confirm??

Saturday Night Road Trip!

Any recommendations for a Saturday Night Road trip?? Good food being the ultimate destination. My wife and I live in Baltimore City and don't really feel like messing with DC tonight, are there any places in the counties that would make for a 45min-1hr road trip?? We have a date with couple friends of ours and we're looking for something fun with great food! Thanks in advance!

South Balto Eats

I second the Himalayan House!

Here's a tip: TRY THE PIZZA (Steak Speciality or Tandoori Chicken!) Not only is the Nepalese/Indian Food great, but the pizza with hints of Nepalese/Indian spices is fantastic! Pizza is difficult to order, but worth the effort!

chowish eats near Arundel Mills Mall

Here's the address to Little Spice:

1350 Dorsey Rd
Hanover, MD 21076
(410) 859-0100

Little Spice is the best Thai in the Baltimore area! I work near there and it's a frequent stop on our lunch tour. The food is always great, there's even a BOGO Dinner Entree coupon on valpak.com

The Himalayan House

New Indian/Nepali/Tibetan restaurant opened at the end of our street (Cooksie Street, Locust Point) tonight, it's only carryout/delivery, but it's fantastic! My wife and I had Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Pakora, Naan and "Honey Balls" for dessert. Definitely worth checking out!
