My daughter wants to celebrate her birthday at Nobu. We were there about 7 years ago and it was pretty good. I have heard mixed reviews about Nobu. She doesn't eat a lot of raw sushi, but loves california rolls, unagi and good food. I, on the other hand love excellent sushi and Yasuda seems to get the thumbs up, as the place to go. . I've made reservations at both, but would like some feedback. Thanks in advance. |

Anyone know of a decent place on Sunday for brunch or lunch in Waltham. We are trying to make the 1:30 movie at the Embassy. We are open to all cuisines...ideally, it would be great to find a bistro like resto. thanks in advance. |

Where to go for lobster these days? Abe&Louies has a really decent lobster (out of the shell) as well as their huge baked stuffed....oh now I am in the mood for a lobster. |

Heard anything about L'Andana? Well then, I will definitely report back.. |

Heard anything about L'Andana? Has anyone heard any reviews or eaten at L'Andana. It is operated by the same group as Mistral, et al. I am going to an opening on Monday night, and was curious what if anything you chows have heard? |

Yah, it scares me too. She likes most everything ethnic, deli, soups, salads, etc. We do send her the occasional care package....but. |

our daughter arrived in NYC as a transfer student. We found out that the meal plan for $1000 the semester consists of eating at diners/rest. in the area of the dorm and school. The diner swipes the card, charges menu prices, and supposedly does not charge tax. (this only gives her 10.00 per day to eat....)..She may as well find good and cheap places near her area and use her debit card. So where to eat on the east side from 50th to 72nd between 2nd and 3rd., that is healthy and cheap? thanks for input |

Just had really nice fried onion rings at Lukes Bar and Grill. Not oily, tender, and crispy. |

Recommendation for Moroccan restaurant? Don't forget Chez Omar, near the outskirts of the Marais, for fantastic couscous and ambiance. |

Recommendations for French macarons? You will find them at Fromaggio in Cambridge for sure. The man who makes them is French and they taste just like the ones at Laduree. yum. |

Hudson super Buffet or the new Super Buffet in Marlboro? we went to the one in Marlboro last night. It was alright, not great. Highlight was the fresh King crab legs.(the butter tasted like the cheap stuff you have on cinema popcorn) the sushi was adequate. They need to have two sushi chefs, cuz the rate at which people grab at the sushi, and the time it takes the chef to make a platter is not well managed. Very often, the sushi station was empty. Found some interesting seafood concoctions (a "pie" made of wanton and seafood medly), stuffed clams were OK. Most of what I had was just OK, not too tasty. Stay away from the crab rangoon if you are expecting good rangoon. I was hoping the chinese string beans would be delicious, but I found them to be bland. I did not try a lot, as I stuck to the sushi and crab legs...People were scooping up truckloads onto their plate....? all you can eat for $12.00. |

Hudson super Buffet or the new Super Buffet in Marlboro? I have read positive comments on the board about the Hudson Super Buffet. Has anyone tried the new one in Marlboro, and if so how do the two compare? |

on all your advice about Pigalle, is it worth it for Vday...... Ha, just for the update...after all this fuss...our flight from Chicago to Boston has been cancelled so we won't have to worry about the high end prices and the flamenco music at Pigalle tonight. What irony. We shall be stuck at the airport....now we can take your advice and try Pigalle another night other than Vday. It wasn't meant to be. HA HA |
|
|
Wilson Farms in Lexington has it in boxes. |
|
|
on all your advice about Pigalle, is it worth it for Vday...... FYI...Pigalle has lowered the price of their Vday dinner to $140pp. Wonder if they read the chow boards. |
|
|
on all your advice about Pigalle, is it worth it for Vday...... $160.00 is per person!!!! Is it worth it? I don't mind spending that kind of "dough". L'Espalier has had similiar prix fixe for about that, and it was worth it...so I question if Pigalle can pull it off. |

Why does the Acton/Concord area have NO GOOD RESTAURANTS? Not so! many of us are very demanding about good food, that is why most of us will travel to get it...Boston, Cambridge,,,etc. |
