Manhattan for a day with a toddler

We'll be in Manhattan for two dinners and one full day of exploring with a 2.5 year old. We're coming from LA. The only set place we have to be is near NYU for a picnic lunch with friends. I'd love any suggestions on where to get food for the picnic (near NYU) and any places for snacks and treats throughout the day. I'm curious about Momofuku because I've read a lot about it.

Our plans right now are open and I'm the kind of person who will plan the day around food. My toddler will be happy to be at a park and maybe hit up the zoo. After Manhattan we're off to Rhinebeck for a few days.

Thanks!

Sonoma Dives?

Hi sfgal2, I was wondering where you ended up in Sonoma? I have the same question.

Thanks!

Good fish or Italian restaurant near Mandarin Oriental

I'm looking for a good fish restaurant for Sunday night. We're staying at the Mandarin Oriental and would like a good restaurant somewhat close to the hotel. We love good food, but it doesn't have to be super fancy. Price isn't an issue. We rarely get out anymore since we have a baby so this is a special treat.

I love fish and Italian. Thanks for your help!

Your top long beach restaurants

Try La Parolaccia. Excellent Italian.

Freezer friendly meals?

I'm having a baby in about three weeks and I'm trying to stock up the freezer with meals so I don't have to cook when she arrives. Do you have any favorite freezer friendly meals? We eat everything, but since I can't be on my feet too long I'm looking for recipes that are not too difficult.

Thanks for the help.

Where to buy a Champion Juicer in LA/OC?

I want to buy a Champion Juicer and I see them all over the internet, but I would prefer to go to a store to buy it. Any ideas where I might find them in LA/OC? I live in Manhattan Beach so OC is actually closer than a lot of LA.

Indian in "Little India"

I'm interested in going to "Little India" for dinner, but there seem to be so many restaurants there. What's your favorite one and why?

Breakfast Between the O.C. and LAX (2 Options)

I would also recommend Bake n Broil in Long Beach. They have delicious sweet breakfasts and it's right off the freeway.

Best Gyros in L.A.

Try George's Greek in Long Beach. There are two locations....one downtown and one on 2nd street. Seriously good.

Any place like Boulevard SF in LA?

Thanks for all the suggestions. We've been to Joe's in Venice and loved it. We just ate at Rustic Canyon and the food was alright, but I honestly was not that impressed. I'll have to try the other places you all have mentioned. We're willing to drive for a good meal. I need to bring my husband to Darren's...he's threatening to move out of the South Bay due to the lack of good food. I've been meaning to try it forever.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Any place like Boulevard SF in LA?

I recently moved to LA from San Francisco and I really miss the restaurant scene. We had so many great neighborhood places and now I live in Manhattan Beach where we can't even get good sushi. One of my favorite things to do in San Francisco was to celebrate special occasions at Boulevard. For anyone who knows Boulevard, is there a LA equivalent? A place that has amazing food, seasonal menu, classy but not fancy, not sceney, reasonable prices ($20-35 entrees)?

T

New(er) and notable in Long Beach?

Cafe Piccolo has a Zinfendel lamb that's amazing. I know this isn't near the theater, but have you tried Poggios in Bixby Knolls.
