I walked it on Sunday, pretty day and not a bad walk. Easier on Napoleon or Claiborne bus route, Tulane shuttle stop within a block. The side of Frostop is on Calhoun and it faces Claiborne. Next to Naked Pizza, across from Tulane Baseball stadium. Don;t miss the real frostop rootbeer!

Napoleon House is casual, bar like atmosphere, more for the drinks than dining but fun. Lower cost and in the center of the Quarter
Palace Cafe is wonderful especially for a celebration, not real expensive but better put in the fine dining along with Mr. B's.
If you like steak don't miss Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse - wonderful and locally owned and operated in typical Brennan Family style'
Big Fan of Johnny's po-boy on St. Louis. Busy with locals but don't walk past - it is worth the short wait if you have one. There is a second dining room seated area in the back too.

Why not do a simple creole buffet on the Steamboat and for a good 25% less they will get to ride an authentic steamboat. Food is not fancy at lunch but they have terrific Fried Chicken and they would do reserved table if you tell them at booking.
