Soup Guy on 51st and Broadway

What's so odious about Hale and Hearty? Their soup is delicious!

asiate, megu, or morimoto?

I don't know-i've been there a few times and the food AND the service was nothing but fabulous. The duck and the rock shrimp tempura are must-haves. And they make amazing desserts and Lichido lycheetinis. Can't recommend the place enough.

Eleven Madison Park Prix Fixe or Country?

I had the tasting menu recently and it was one the most memorable and delicious meals of my life. Cost a pretty penny, but was kinda worth it...

Anyone know where I can find mini-samosas, especially the potato kind?

pure food and wine

I found the place incredibly pretentious and the food rather bland and tasteless. But to each his own.

Best mac and cheese?

Petite Abeille on 20th and 1st makes a pretty great mac & cheese- made with pieces of bacon and rich and filling.

Dirty Martinis

Make sure you shake up the martini with ice for long enough to actually dilute the martini with ice-water. I really believe that makes it taste significantly smoother (and use excellent quality vodka, of course).

How would you describe the taste of Smirnoff?

Smirnoff is just OK. I prefer Zyr Vodka or Ketel One.

lychee martinis

I used to make them with lychee juice out of a can (bought at a local Korean corner grocery)and Vodka. But now I make it with Lichido liqueur and Vodka, in equal parts. It's my wife's and my new favorite cocktail.

Pasta in a White Truffle Sauce

I don't know if the truffle sauce was white, but I recently had a ridiculously tasty pasta with porcini mushrooms and truffle sauce at Felidia's. It's only a week later and I already crave it. Unfortunately, I'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe...

Peter Lugers

Seriously, why would you say such things about Peter Luger? The presentation is genius and the meat is the best I or anyone I know have ever had anywhere.

Anyone tried Lichido?

FYI, I finally bit the bullet and bought a bottle. It's an excellent liqueur. I agree it's sweet but I used it to make martinis with vodka and orange juice, and the citrus complemented it perfectly. The tartness balanced out the sweetness and made one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Thanks.

Any ideas for coconut cocktails?

Anything with Chocolate, Lychee, or Mango would taste good with Coconut (but not together, of course).

Dirty Martinis

Use Ketel One or Grey Goose. Don't overdo the olive juice. And make sure there's plenty of ice to thaw into water and dilute the martini by the time you pour it into a glass. Good stuff.

ISO Fresh Spinach Naan

This probably doesn't count but they have Saag Panner Pizza at Bread Bar. It has spicy spinach and goat cheese on an Indian Roti. Please let us know if you do find Spipnach Naan. That sounds delicious.

Hot Chocolate

Absolutely City Bakery. It's rich and thick and almost chewy. I've never had anything like it anywhere else.

Making Limoncello

I second the Smirnoff 100-pf vodka. It's a good quality base for any infusion.

Mojito time!

My latest favorite is Mango Mojito. I make it with white rum, muddled limes, fresh mint, and mango nectar. It is awesome.

Israeli Falafel

I recently tasted the falafel at Rectangles on the upper east side, and I must say they were great...nice and spicy with parsley in the batter. Crispy too...In fact, I'm going to have to revisit soon...

Brownies

City Bakery has the best brownies ever!! And btw, their hot chocolate is so rich and caloric it's almost like drinking a brownie. I've never had anything like it.

Fabulous Cocktails

Yeah, they have some really fresh muddled fruity cocktails. Their head bartenders won a prestigious cocktail award this past May:
