Need a good Kosher restaurant in Scottsdale/PHX area

I wish someone would open a good upscale Kosher restaurant & club in Scottsdale with live ethnic type music. Like a small dinner/supper club. It would really be great for the community. One night they could serve Sephardic food w/Sephardic music and the next night could be Ashkenasic. Any discussion?

Cholent

It's really not a secret but the best cholent is made by first browning the meat (short ribs are best as they have a bone) in a small amount of Schmaltz (rendered chicken fat) then add the onions, etc. It's the Schmaltz that adds the highest level of flavor to this remarkable festive dish.

What happened to Jerry's Deli??????

I was in LA (Ventura Blvd. location) this week and had ordered a corned beef sandwich at Jerry's & it was sooo tough and had no taste (poor quality beef) that I had to send it back. When the waiter brought another back it was still tough with no flavor and dried out. For $15.50 a sandwich it is a shame!!!!!! Any comments?????

Dickey's Barbecue - Scottsdale, AZ

I love the barBq at BobbyQ's. The brisket is juicy and delish!! The ribs are great also and the restaurant is attractive. I just wish it were located in Scottsdale.

Kosher Restaurants in Phoenix/Scottsdale

Anyone know of a Kosher restaurant in Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ area? Thank you in advance.

Pastrami - Thick, Spiced, Buttery Fat

You are so "right" about Langer's (8th & Alvarado I believe). I also lived in LA for 15 years. Travelled to get Langer's hand slice hot and juicy pastrami sandwichs many times. It was much better than the fashionable Nate n' Al's.

Also if you're in Chicago your're not far from Milwaukee which also has excellent deli and Jewish delicatessens.

Is Campos still in business?

When I lived in LA 20-25 years ago I used to love Campos burritos. There beans were just sooo delicious. . .as everything else they prepared. I will be arriving in LA soon again to visit. Are they still in business and/or is there somewhere else that can compare to that bean burrito that lingers in my memory? Thanks in advance.

Seafood Suggestions? (Phoenix)

In reply to your query asking about fish/seafood restaurants in the Phoenix, AZ area, I must say that over the years I have tried them all and it has been my experience to say that they have been all "under par" according to my discerning palate. The last place was the Ocean Club at the Kierland area of Scottsdale. Six adults (my family) were out to enjoy a family dining experience. $400 and 45 minutes later (in a loud and boisterous venue) we were served undercooked and tasteless fish to which five of six had to send our meal back. We all ordered other things and that also was "tasteless". I would probably venture to say that the best fish fare would be had at a fine hotel restaurant.
