K-cups for Keurig Coffeemaker?

Yes Neil and his crew at ECS are great! If any of you are on facebook follow ECS on Facebook. Neil is always coming up with contests and giveaways and is full of good information. Happy Coffee shopping!

The Butcher Shoppe - What do you buy there?

Their veal chops (14oz huge) are too die for! I have had their chicken, steak, sausages, cornish hens. Everything has always been great! Always go there when entertaining to get great product at a good price! Never have I been disappointed.

Jordan ontario and Pingue prosciutto

Actually UCC retail outlet in Jordan sells Pingue Proscuitto. Failing that if you take a drive in NOTL you can go to Cheese Secrets who also sells Pingue Proscuitto and many other wonderful goodies! Enjoy.

Suggestions for places to eat in Hamilton please

It is not walking distance but you can park for free on the street out front the restaurant. I recommend taking them to The Harbour Diner.
Everyday they post their specials on their online chalk board. They also have a great regular menu. Portions are huge, prices are low and most importantly food is great!

If you want to take a drive out to Tree & Twig Heirloom Vegetable Farm Linda grows several varieties and they are very plentiful this year. Check her website if you are interested and send her an email if you want to pay a visit. I would highly recommend it!

Linda Crago Tree & Twig Heirloom Vegetable Farm grows it and sells it along with many other wonderful and hard to find things. Worth the visit!

Where can I find grits in Toronto?

The restaurant Southern Accent in Mirvish Village (Bathurst & Bloor) used to sell them. Not sure if they still do, but it would be worth a call as they sell the true authentic southern style grits.

Haliburton - Redstone / Kennisis Lake Area

You need to visit Oakview Lodge. The owners Val & Krenar Kulla are wonderful people, and boy can Krenar cook. The portions are huge, the prices good, and the food is the best around. Check their menu out online.

K-cups for Keurig Coffeemaker?

I don't know if you are willing to come out to Burlington but ECS Coffee carries almost all of the k-cups available (Gloria Jean's, Coffee People, Timothy's, Green Mountain, Newman's Own, etc.) If you come out in person you can make a pack that allows you pick and choose your own so that you can try out different flavours. They will also let you taste something in store if you want. Neil and his staff are very helpful. Failing a trip to Burlington, they have an online
Every since discovering them I have become a very happy keurig junky! Happy Shopping.

Good Eats in Stoney Creek

The Express Restaurant (349 Grays Rd) is really good. It is an Italian Restaurant with great wood oven pizza's, pasta, etc. Try their grilled veggie salad, it is huge and very tasty!

Hillbilly Heaven - BBQ in Burlington!

It is a cool shop! The portions are huge and I agree with burlgurl...take home a pound of meat and make your own sandwiches...very good!

New sushi restaurant in Burlington..Sushi Adano

I went a week ago for lunch and had a terrible experience. The service was terrible! They kept forgetting dishes we ordered, even brought us the bill before our dessert (which we had been waiting for 15mins for) and then when we asked about the dessert, again, they said they would check on it. Turns out they forgot to order it. Compared to Saga Sushi in Burlington (Brant St. & Plains) I was very disappointed in the quality, quantity and service. Based on my experience I won't return.

Ace Baguettes - bake at home

I have even baked them on the barbeque! Great in the summer when it is really hot and you don't want to heat up the kitchen.

Where is the best place to buy cheese in Mississauga?

If you are willing to go to Oakville Whole Foods has a good selection of cheese, again not cheap. Also in Etobicoke is Pasquale Bros Foods and they have a great selection of cheese and other gourmet products.

spanish olives in TO?

Try Pasquale Bros in Etobicoke. You can check their website... as they list all the products they carry. They have a rather extensive list of olives. If you don't see the ones that you are looking for, give them a call anyway...they are very helpful.

Funky Tuna in Mississauga - ever been?

If you didn't like Lucy's you really won't like Funky Tuna. I went every once in awhile to Lucy's and ordered off their happy hour menu. I found the portions were good for the price and always fresh. When I tried Funky Tuna the portions were half the size and tasted like they had been sitting around (despite the fact that there was only one other table of guests in the place...should have been a sign!) So personally I wouldn't go near the place ever again. I can't see it staying in business very long.

Heirloom tomato seedlings

This weekend Tree & Twig Heirloom Farm ( in Wellandport has their "Tomato Days Sale" May 23-24 from 8am - 4pm. She has over 100 different varieties and her prices and product are great! I would recommend taking a trip out there to get some of the wonderful plants.

Where to take 17 year old boy in Oakville/Burlington?

If he likes to try different food, Sakai in Burlington on Fairview is a Japanese restauarant and you could do Shabu Shabu or Sukiyaki (JAPANESE FONDUE DISHES COOKED AT YOUR TABLE) it is fun. There is also Barangas on the Beach if you don't mind going to Hamilton...nice to sit on the patio. For a rainy day activity try the new VIP rooms at the theatre in Oakville. I think it is $16.95 per person for the movie but well worth it.

Good luck and have fun!

Burrata in Toronto

I live west of Toronto, but Whole Foods in Oakville was carrying Burrata for awhile. Might try the Yorkville location. It was around $20 for a ball of Burrata that came wrapped in a banana leaf and was stored in their cheese vault. Good certainly is wonderful stuff!

Good restos in Hamilton (updates, please!)

If you want to head into Burlington I would suggest trying Blacktree. The menu changes on a monthly basis and is amazing. I lived in Toronto before moving to Burlington and feel this compares to all the upscale restaurants there. Half the fun is finding is located down an alleyway in the Roseland Plaza. Don't let the location fool is well worth the visit!
