Marrakesh Cafe-Dallas

had dinner there a few months ago. A good experience on food. Had harrira soup, pastilla & cornish hen roasted with olives. All were good. nice to have a Morrocan restaurant in dallas again. Looking forward to a return visit. Atmosphere is simple but warm. Not a big change in look since the space was occupied by Heddary's.

Best Sushi in Plano/Dallas Area

For traditional high quality sushi & sashimi in this area you can't bean Sushi Sake. Especially if sitting at the bar in the owners section.

Passion for sour cream chicken enchiladas (DFW)

2nd Cowboy Chicken. Not a place you'd expect to find good enchiladas, but they're some of the best. Only had them at the Preston Rd. Location.

Grimaldi's - Dallas

Had dinner at Grimaldi's on Saturday evening. Shared a large Caesar salad between two adults. Salad was very good, a little over dressed. Very large, easily enough for 4. Ordered a large pizza, half plain other half with mushrooms & calamata olives. Cheese half was excellent, sweet sauce, fresh cheese applied sparingly. Half with toppings wasn't so great, too much of the toppings made the pizza too heavy and a little soggy. Sent it back to cook a little longer which made the crust better, but toppings were still heavy. Will ask for a ligtht touch with the toppings next time. Crust was very good but not as charred as I would expect from a coal oven. Waiter told us we can ask for well done next time. we will. Maybe oven wasn't hot enough. Anyway, we will be back. In my opinion this is agruably the best pizza in Dallas at the moment, especially since coal vines no longer has a coal oven.

Coal Vines Pizza - DFW

Had lunch at Coal Vines yesterday. Very disappointed to find out they no longer use a coal fired oven. Thir coal oven has been converted to gas. Pizza was still good, but nearly as good as before, none of that great coal charring or smokiness, crust was good but didn't have the same crispness that it had when baked in a coal oven. Wonder if they'll change the name?

Spaghetti Carbonara in Dallas

Mercury Grill has a fantastic pearl couscous carbonara as an appetizer on their dinner menu. Not exactly Spaghetti, but very good in my opinion. It's available by request at lunch as well.

New Indian restaurant in Dallas

Excellent recommendation. Have eaten there twice, both times at lunch & prior to guide live review. Lunch is a buffet. Food was much better fresher than any other Indian buffet i've been to, with much more interesting selections. Service was very warm & friendly. Unfortunately didn't have opportunity to try the Biryani (can't order from menu at lunch) but will have to try at dinner sometime. I suspect the guide live review will have a very positive impact on their business. Now my favorite Indian restaurant in the area.

Been there a few times. Solid food, generous portions, excellent value, very friendly service. Looks like mom & pop operation. Was quiet the few times we've been, hope heir business picks up.

New Indian restaurant in Dallas

Ali Baba did close, but not due to lack of business - they are in the process of relocating to a larger space in a free standing building just on the other side of Central, near Cafe Brazil. Ironicaly a building that once occupied an Indian restaurant. They should be open in another 3-4 weeks and will serve both lunch 7 dinner.

Had dinner at Craft Saturday evening, Restaurant Week menu. Food was excellent. 3 appetizers were served family style, all cold refreshing. a Salad of heirloom tomatoes, a salad of chilled sweet shrimp with aioli, and mixed greens with blue cheese. All excellent. Entree choices included crab cakes, halibut, salmon, beef short ribs & one of two others. Three of four in our group chose crab cakes and one chose the short ribs, both were excellent. Along with the entrees, sides were also served family style and included roasted seasonal vegetables, roasted wild mushrooms, and fingerling potatoes, delicious. Deserts we're cream cheese panna cotta with wild berries & short bread cookies, warm chocolate cakes, and a selection of ice creams & sorbets: coconut, concord grape, pine nut & mexican vanilla. The pine nut icecream was fantastic. Service was warm, welcoming, friendly, professional. Overall a great experience, worth way more that the $35 per person restaurant week price tag.

Agree completely. Adelmo's has been in business for a long time for a reason. Solid food, friendly service, good value, unique experience. Very romatic. Interesting wine selections. One of my favorites. Wish I could get there more often.

It's interesting that Central Market (coit location) is no longer serving paciugo, instead they make their gelato in-house. Agree with you that it's quite good.

Tableside guacamole, shrimpl balls, muscles in sweet chili broth, banana bread pudding. All we excelent. Excitied to see this place develop. Very friendly service. Reasonable prices, nothing over $16.95. Looking forward to a return visit.

Suggestions for Korean BBQ in DFW area

Seoul Garden (corner of Royal Lane & Reeder, jut off Royal & I-35) is the best I've found in the area. As far as I kjnow it's the only place where the BBQ is grilled on real charcoal. Makes a big difference in flavor. It's pricier than other places , but worth the difference for the quality.

DFW - Has anyone been to the Porch?

Had dinner there on Sunday. Ordered chopped brisket sliders for appetizers - they were ok, nothig special, not worth the price. Cheeseburger was quite good, good grill/smoke flavor. Beef short rib stoganoff was good - meat a bit to fatty. Smoked ham mac & cheese was very good. Skipped desert, but descriptions sounded good. Don't remember the prices exactly so this is guess: Sliders $10; mac & cheese $8; Burger $10 or 12; Stroganoff $18.00. Overall it's good, will likely go back for a casual meal. At about 8:00 on Sunday the patio was full, dining room not. Very large bar, I think they're expecting a lot of bar business. Reminded me of a more casual version of Houston's. seating inside is primarily booths, dark woods, butcher block style tabletops. Service was very friendly, very efficient, knowledgable.
