Birthday Brunch Orange County
BubblyOne. Thanks for the recommendations. We decided on brunch at the St. Regis. It was great. And well worth the money if you have the time to really make a day of it. Food was amazing, service attentive and atmosphere is just beautiful. Highly recommend it.
Foodie Facebook Pages
Wondering if anyone out there is a food blogger and has a FaceBook page. I'd love to follow some great foodie related pages.
Best Mexican in Hillcrest or Anywhere
There was a thread discussing best Mexican food and I remember a spot in Hillcrest mentioned many times. I have searched but can't find it. I'm not set on Hillcrest, willing to travel but would love a great dinner. Now, how hard can that be in San Diego? I'm not interest in taco shops-- looking for a restaurant experience.
Birthday Brunch Orange County
Good point. I think buffet would be fun. Thanks for the St. Regis suggestion.
Birthday Brunch Orange County
After looking into the menus more, I think that Splashes looks too casual. Could anyone confirm if this is a more upscale or more casual experience?
Birthday Brunch Orange County
Looking for a nice place for brunch for my father's 70th birthday. He lives in Laguna Beach so something in Dana Point, Laguna, Newport would be great. Ocean view is always nice. Would love something that is more upscale and not casual. He loves breakfast and a good brunch.
Back in the day we loved going to Jon Dominos. Think it's long gone.
I've read review of Beachcomber in Crystal Cove, Splashes and the Ritz. Any opinions? Any other suggestions?
Best Salmon Recipe?
I want to make a wild salmon dish for x-mas eve. Want a great recipe. Maybe salmon in lobster sauce. Something decadent. Any great salmon recipes welcome!

Laguna Beach: Gluten Free/ Dairy Free Take Out or Delivery
Will be in Laguna Monday with a group. I'm gluten free and my son is allergic to dairy. Yes, i know high maintenance! I'm with a group and they are willing to order based on our food needs and am looking for options.
I found Z Pizza which could work. Any other options? Any Chinese places that use cornstarch instead of flour? I think Chinese would be a better option if there is one that anyone knows of.
Gluten Free in Palm Springs... Need Recommendations
My son has an allergy to wheat gluten and we are forever looking for good food that is made gluten-free. I am wondering if anyone here knows of any good places in Palm Springs.
We're always trying out restaurants that have no reason to have gluten (such as Vietnamese and Mexican), but you'd be surprised how much wheat in some form or another finds its way in.
I am wondering if anyone knows of restaurants that specifically cater to gluten allergies. The only ones we've found so far are the Palm Greens Cafe & Canyon Flours Bakery.

Palm Springs Family Friendly Lunch Spot
We are planning a trip to Palm Springs next month and want to visit Moorten Botanial Gardens with our with our 5 year old.
The Gardens are located on S Palm Canyon and we would love a nearby place in Palm Springs for lunch that is kid friendly, but still 'good food'.
I've done a bit of research and it looks like Matchbox, Grind Burger Bar, Hamburger Mary's, Original Las Casuelas are all good for kids. Which do you recommend for the food? Or if I've missed the mark on great kid friendly restaurants I'd love some suggestions.

Palm Springs Best Happy Hour?
I am going to be in Palm Springs for 4 days later this month. I'm traveling with my mom & she loves to do happy hour instead of 'dinner'.
I am open to anywhere from dive places to 5 star places, just as long as there is awesome food!
I've heard about:
Roscoe's
Mr. Parker
Kaiser Grille
Lulu
Agua Pazza
Margaritas (is this more for ambiance than food?)
Any suggestions? Any stay away from or any I don't have on the list?
Palm Springs Birthday Dinner & Best Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
I have two scenarios. First my mom's birthday is this weekend. She lives in Palm Springs and I want to take here somewhere special. She tends to do the happy hour thing - Lulu's, Spencers, Kaiser Grille.
I've looked at a few threads and my list consists of:
Norma's
Al Dente
Le Vallauris
Johanne's
Purple Rain (I see many hot and cold reviews. How is it lately?)
Pomme Frittes
Zin (again this looks like it might be hit or miss. Thoughts?)
Copley (is it worth the money?)
Citron
My second question is if you had to say what your favorite spot (pick one for each in Palm Springs)... is for breakfast, lunch and dinner? I am also a writer and want to cover a 'foodie' piece focusing on a perfect day in Palm Springs exploring the culinary terrain while there.
Thanks!
