Birthday Dinner in Riverhead, Long Island... My vote would be Riverhead Project or Love Lane Kitchen. |
|
|
I've never actually tried it, but I know Bistro Citron has a brunch menu. I'd love to know if it was good or not. |

Somewhat quieter/more adult bar in East Village? Terroir. ----- |

Fun place to go with then girls from work try Buddakan. it's very possible to eat there on a smaller budget. lots of small plates. it's got a nice atmosphere and very girly. ----- |

I went to a wedding at Raphael Vineyard in Peconic and the food and venue were fantastic. In Nassau, Carltun on the Park and The Royalton at Roslyn Country Club are gorgeous and have good food. |

LONG ISLAND - seeking BELGIAN BEER on menu and maybe some Belgian food? it becomes a bit trendy on weekend evenings, but the mussels are very good. As is all the food. |

Anniversary dinner in North Fork The menu in December is just as excellent. Definitely go for it, and hooray for december birthdays! |

Best Lobster Roll on the North Fork? I've been meaning to try the Lobster Roll at Southold Fish Market. I've heard it's among the best. Haven't been thrilled with any other. My favorite is the one at the North Fork Table lunch truck, though. ----- |

Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace, Long Island There is nothing special about them, their produce is ESPECIALLY bad. I've had one near me in Port Washington for a long time and always prefer North Shore Farms just down the way. |

I wouldn't say it's worth the trip way out east, but Greenport now has a Farmer's Market on Saturday's from 8am-Noon. They have lots of local organic and non-organic produce from farms, bread from Blue Duck and cheese (Catapano) and other goodies, and every week there is another winery. It's a nice thing to have, but they are all things you could hit up on the way to the market! |

That's great. I've had a hard time getting over the time I went, where the service was literally a nightmare. I'm going to give it another chance, because it's usually slim pickings out here on long island. |

Late Lunch Penn Station-MidTown to Chelsea? Half King on 23rd and 10th ave is a really relaxed place that I'm sure you could linger for quite a while, especially in the afternoon. It's just a 10 min walk from Penn. ----- |

BIG portions on small budgets in Gramercy / Kips Bay / East Flatiron for Lunch? There's some lunch trucks that hit the area that have pretty huge portions. Usually lasts me 2 days for lunch. Specifically BistroTruck and Schnitz&Things. There's a natural foods place that has really substantial portions on 31st between Park and Lex called Natureworks Restaurant. ----- |

Whenever I am in that neighborhood (which is usually for bridesmaids duties!) we go to Serafina. There's one of 61st between Madison and Park. There's a bigger (and nicer) one uptown on 79th and Madison. ----- |

West Village - Cheap cheap cheap Malatesta ----- |

I'd reccomend trying Lola in Great Neck. It's really a great meal, such adventurous eating for Long Island. Really unexpected. |

Recommendations for special lunch in Manhattan on a weekday with two small children in tow? Bubby's in Tribeca is very children friendly and great food. ----- |

Best retail seafood on the North Fork of LI? you're better off at Southold Fish Market just 10 minutes east. ----- |
|

Friends in from LA....next Saturday night Locanda Verde. ----- |

LA chowhound visiting the Hamptons Agree on the North Fork rec. Try asap to get a table at North Fork Table & Inn! Delicious!!! Kill some time touring all the wineries. Check out Old Field (my fave) which is just 5 minutes from the restaurant. Also, Corey Creek, Osprey's Dominion, Sparkling Point. If you need lunch, try Love Lane Kitchen in Mattituck or just grab cheese or a sandwich across the street at the Village Cheese Shop. ----- Love Lane Kitchen |

St. Honore in Port Washington is AMAZING. St Honore Pastry Shop |

I can't say anough good things about Old Field Vineyard. It's quiet, very primitive and rustic, but STUNNING. The wine is great, too. |
|
|
Vintage Port in Port Washington is really nice. |

Long Island restaurant to celebrate 20th anniversary This is the best suggestion yet! |

Long Island restaurant to celebrate 20th anniversary I second Lola. Great spot. |

Support for TLV in Great Neck - a great injustice has been done link to the new restaurant. |

Support for TLV in Great Neck - a great injustice has been done That is so unfortunate. I will definitely do my best to support them. Lola is my favorite restaurant on the island, and I want to support this chef and all the great things he has brought to this town. |
