ALTA REVIEW

I too thought it was horribly, awfully noisy on a Saturday night. As per my comments in the "Alta Report" - it felt like a dressed up frat party. The girls were dressed up anyway, while the boys wore backwards baseball camps. All were yelling and screaming. The food was mixed. Some excellent dishes in portions that could be shared. Other dishes were just ok, and some portions were so small they felt like a prank. Maybe it is better on weekdays. Staff seemed nice. We were seated pretty fast with a reservation.

I agree - a nightmare of noise on Saturday night. Obnoxious, young brats -- it felt like crashing a frat party rather than being in the Village. I long for the days when the Village was a gay ghetto rather than a Het hang out. Thought the service was good and the staff friendly. The 20 something patrons shouldn't be allowed in the door.

Alta Report

Lovely place, good food. Went on a Saturday night -- a real nightmare crowd. Loud, drunk fraternity types. Maybe bridge and tunnel or just suburban brats living in New York for a few years before buying a McMansion in a cornfield somewhere. Go during the week to enjoy Spanish interior and nice food. I recommend: Lamb meatballs, brussel sprouts, large sea scallops. Some of the dishes are so tiny as to be laughable. The ceviche was tasty but nearly invisible.
