Ruby's Oyster Bar & Bistro - Rye, NY

Been to Ruby's twice. Had the burger both times. Here's the deal $13 for a burger with melted crumbled blue cheese on an english muffin. Comes with fries and a mayo-like dipping sauce, ketchup, and sort of a red wine au-jus sauce.

Burger is REALLY good. Worth all $13. It's probably top 5-10 burgers I've ever had.

The only down side of this place is that the staff is pretty apathetic. The one time I sat in the restaurant area, the waiter knew next to nothing aboout the menu. Then the time i sat at the bar, the bartender wasn't what I would call welcoming. All in all, this place is worth a trip for really good food in a cool setting. Get a burger and beer, maybe some oysters... and enjoy!!

Went to Red Rooster in Brewster, NY this weekend. I was excited as I pulled up because the place was cool looking and crowded. I love good road food... burgers, dogs, fries, etc. I was dissappointed on all fronts by this place. The food is on par with a swim club snack bar... maybe even not as good. The burger was tiny and forgettable. 7-11 has better hot dogs. I think the only redeeming thing about this place may be that it's a good place to take kids. Didn't try the ice cream or milkshakes... not really my thing. But if you're looking for a tasty burger, and a hot dog that has that "snap" to it... look elsewhere. It's kind of disheartening that there are no great fast food burger spots in Westchester/Putnam. If anyone knows of any (not Little Spot in NWP) please let me know.
