Help! Just got tickets last minute for Broadway (42nd St,.)

My boyfriend and I went to Brooklyn Diner the other day for the first time and we both really enjoyed it. 155 West 43rd Street (Broadway & 6th) Yes, touristy, but still fun.

Things I ate/drank in college that I will never eat again

Lucky Wishbone! I never went there, I'm a Tucson Native, but I head it's fantastic for anything fried.

I'd STILL want to go there.....except I'm a veggie.

Magloobeh in the city

Everywhere I've ordered it, it's been spelled with a g, so I just followed suit.

It should be an entree...it's rice and fried cauliflower, eggplant, potatoes and some form of meat. I don't think I could see that labeled as dessert.

Thanks for your reporting guys. I didn't know if there were any that actually knew of a place out there with the amazing dish.

Magloobeh in the city

I'm willing to travel, though not too crazy out of manhattan. I need some suggestions as to the BEST magloobeh you've found here. I know it's amazingly easy to make, but I want to be lazy and have it made for me.

I've not been able to find anywhere that serves it (and I've given it about a 10 minute online search)

I also know that people's mom's can make a killer version, so please don't rub it in my face if you know of someone I won't be able to buy it from.

Many, MANY thanks!

TOP "essential" New York Restaurants $ to $$$$

Dirt Candy was horrible when I went there. I would never recommend it.

Coleslaw for BBQ Pulled Pork?

I can't handle regular coleslaw (I gag) so when I make my pulled pork I typically make a slaw with lots of vinegar, apples, cilantro, lime, the works... It compliments well due to the fact that my sauce is somewhat spicy.

Dirt Candy - new veg restaurant in EV

I was so very disappointed with this place. There was no honor placed upon these veggies, rather, expected bland existences were presented in humble place settings.

Cafe on 9th Avenue in the 50s (or wine bar; for afternoon meet-up)

I was thinking Kashkaval as well...I liked the feeling of the place and it wasn't over the top.

5 choices, please help me pick one...

The best meal I've had was Blue Hill @ Stone Barns. It was romantic and fantastic - every aspect. It's a treat no one should pass up.

Lots of cream

Ha, I don't know how vegetarian that was, but someone seemed to like it!

Mason Jars - Where can I find them in Manhattan?

I had the SAME question...except I'm making salsa.

I love this site.....

Lots of cream

Thank you so much to everyone's wonderful suggestions. I am more a fan of savory than sweet and I think I'll try a couple of these over the course of the next week.

Thank you again! I LOVE this site!

Lots of cream

Butter was such an excellent idea!

Lots of cream

My mashed potatoes are killer - but it's too soon after Thanksgiving for me to put them back on the table...but the au gratin is another excellent idea...

Lots of cream

excellent suggestions. I do eat eggs and cheese. I think the creamed spinach would work. I considered making polenta as well, and I think that could go beautifully.

and creamed soups are always a hit...good suggestion.

Lots of cream

I planned on making a TON of whipped cream for thanksgiving and only ended up using about 2 containers out of the 5 I bought. Now I'm stuck with these, needing to use them before I vacation over the holidays.

I'm hosting two different dinners this week and hoping that someone might be able to give me ideas as to how to use up the cream in various recipes.

I'm vegetarian also, and only cook vegetarian....

Thank you!

Recommendations for Tuscon, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Sedona

Wow, I miss Tucson so very much.

I think La Indita on 4th is a fantastic place to have a bite to eat and for a fantastic price. It gives you vegetarian options you wouldn't normally find in your typical mexican joint. Barrio Grill is a nice place to grab a cocktail and steak. You could take the trip down to South Tucson and just stop into any of the places along South 4th; Michas, Crossroads, there's loads of good eating. The Cup Cafe in Congress Hotel is a great place to have breakfast, and of course there's always cafe Poca Cosa just down the way. I say take advantage of the amazing mexican options.
