San Diego Fish Tacos & Burritos

Do you know what hours Los Cuatros Milpas is open? Thanks!

Brat Brothers Sausage Grill Sherman Oaks

Just had lunch at this new hole-in-the-wall in Sherman Oaks, 13456 Ventura Bl. I had the very tasty German Brat on a bun with sides of a wonderful "Grandma's Sauerkraut" and a bland beef chili with beans. 14 different varieties of Brats including Turkey, Venison, Lamb, Buffalo and Ostrich. No hot dogs or other items except 6 side orders. I think the sign said they were open 11:30a-7p. I can't wait to try a few others.

$5.50 for a Brat on a bun and $850 with two sides. You have to try the Sauerkraut. Different than most krauts, darker with a lot of flavor.

LUNCH SPOT ENCINO/SHERMAN OAKS

I eat at Brat Bros. today for lunch. Really good grilled brats on a roll. 14 different varieties, all brats no hot dogs. Turkey, Venison, Lamb, Buffalo along with the usual pork and veal ones. Sides include a really good "Grandma's Sauerkraut" and a bland beef chili with beans. I think they're open 11:30a-7p.

Butternut Squash Ravioli Craving

I believe Ca Del Sole at Lankershaim and Cahuanga Bl. in Universal City has them. Call first.

Filipino Food in Historic Filipinotown?

Manila Good Ha on Vermont around 2nd Street has good, cheap Filipino food.

Also there's a Jollibee (filipino owned fast food) at Vermont and Beverly (i think) just south of the 101 freeway on Vermont.

indian in north hollywood/sherman oaks

I really like Great India Cafe on Ventura Bl. two blocks east of Whitsett. Excellent Chicken Tikka Masala, tandori and a good selection of vegie dishes They do take out.

Also, Gangadin on Ventura Place and Laurel Cyn. in Studio City has been in business a while and is also pretty good.

I've also heard good things about Bollywood on Ventura just west of Vineland but have not been there yet.

Best Burger in LA?

Try the Bullit burger at "The Bullit" coffee shop on White Oak just north of Vanowen in Reseda. About 1/2 pound, served on french roll with grilled onion, cheese, ortega chile for around 5 bucks...good stuff.

Mexican supermarket to buy fresh carnitas

I agree 100% with you Dommy! Cinco Puntos is it! Love their salsas also.

Another place in No Ho nobody has mentioned is a little market on the southwest corner of Laurel Cyn and Vanowen called "La Flor de Micheocan" (spelling???) Decent Carnitas and all the fixin's. It got my attention because it has the same name as the famous carnitas restaurant in Rosarito Mex.

L&L Hawaiian BBQ now in Santa Monica

I really like Aloha Food Factory at the north end of the 710 FWY in Alhambra I think. Make a right on Valley Blvd and it's two blocks down on the right hand side.

Family owned and run...great Kalua Pork, Lau Lau, Loco Moco BBQ chicken...they got it all.

ANY SOUL FOOD CHOWHOUNDS?

Try Soul Food Cafe on the corner of La Brea and Manchester in Inglewood. It's owned by Degan family that used to run Aunt Kizzy's.

It's buffet style but very tasty and huge portions. Most lunches and dinners under $10.

Top 10 Tastes of California [L.A. Area]

I guess I'm one of the few. I've been to Katz, Carnegie and Langers. No doubt Langers is the better pastrami. Better rub on the outside, not as fatty as Katz and sliced just right. I found Katz to be too thick of a cut with too much unedible gristle.
