update on dahlia lounge doughnuts.... overrated. The ones at pike's place are better, although not open for after-dinner.
the upside was the marscarpone
Sushi-Grade Tuna in Seattle
Hey guys,
Looking for sushi-grade tuna to make some seared tuna tonight. Would I be better finding it at Whole Foods or Uwajimaya?
Thanks!
Seattle Cupcakes / Birthday Cakes
An update..
I went to Yellow Leaf and got an assortment of cupcakes. They weren't too sweet and the frosting was pretty light and fluffy. They made it down to vegas in good shape but i would't say that the box is made for travel.
The girls liked all of them. With those that liked spiced cakes really liking the tomato-soup one.

Smoked Salmon
Hey,
Thanks for the recommendations. I should have tried to find the Pure Fish in the Market but i was in a rush. I went to the place right at the entrance, where they throw the fish. It was pretty good.

Hi Chowhounds!
I'm looking for the best cupcake place in Seattle. I'm not a big sweets guy but was looking to pick up something for a trip i'm taking. I'm originally from NY so I've had like Magnolia and Buttercup as a point of reference. I've tried Cupcake Royale here and thought it was okay but wasn't anything that blew me away.
I've gotten some recs but would love to hear some other opinions:
Trophy
Cupcake Royale - are blue mountain huckleberry's indigenous to wa?
Macrina Bakery
Safeway
Thanks to ALL!!!!
Lunch Driving North from SEATAC
Hey, I would say Dick's is pretty much McDonalds... it's main draw is that it's open late and its where everyone goes when they're drunk.
I would go with the Vietnamese suggestion at Green Leaf.. it's relatively close to the I-5. Kind of a hole-in-the wall and they've got good pho... although if you're going to vancouver, you might find better pho up there
Smoked Salmon
Hi all
I'm looking for a place to pick up the BEST smoked salmon in Seattle. I'm visiting my brother out of state this weekend and was hoping to bring some down.
Thanks!!!
Octopus in Seattle
not exactly grilled octopus but in the same category i would say is the grilled calamari at Barolo - 7th and Westlake. Their after 10pm happy hour is phenominal
Ethnic / Unique Eats in Seattle for Single Girl Staying in Downtown, Reasonable Prices
Hey, i'm also a pretty big foodie from ny and i've been working here in seattle for the last year.
I think there's some great recommendations on this board.. but the place i'll single out is Barolo (7th and Westlake) for their after 10pm happy hour. I go here at least once every two weeks.. not just because i live right around the corner, but because its quality. Nothing on the menu has dissapointed me.. except the fried calamari -- its just calamari -- instead, i'll opt for the grilled calamari which is pretty special
Stoney Creek Inn for Crabs?
Went there in January. Crabs weren't in season but they have them shipped in daily if you reserve them. We had the Large ( i think they have a jumbo which is larger) and the crabs were pretty damn big... and delicious!
