Is there anyplace in Cumberland,Md. serving good, simply prepared food of any kind?
DC two nights with 10 year old grandson who knows good food (asian & steak)
price not an object-----quality and consistency are.
Knife sharpening in Baltimore
I've used Frank Monaldi for some years now and he's very good and reasonably priced. And
while he's doing your half dozen knives you can spend a pleasant half hour watching
some guys playing bocci on a court Frank built in his back yard.

YO MAMA'S FOOD
Thanks for all the responses to my question about "YO MAMA' S FOOD'
Some of them were quite poignant, especially the ones that reminded me of my
own Hungarian,Jewish Mom. I was lucky enough to learn to make her stuffed cabbage, before she died in 1976.
Every time I cook up a batch I'm right back with her, my Dad, and my Brother--
all gone now. Funny what food does for memory.
Soft Shell Crabs
I'm pretty sure that blue crabs are not currently farm raised. If you're getting
them out of season they are frozen.
Annapolis Favorites and Updates
I strongly second Lewnes and Les Folies. They are very consistent.
Deep Creek Lake Dining [Moved from DC/Baltimore Area]
there is no fine dining in deep creekk lake,as reasonably defined. Pine lodge steakhouse
is about as good as it gets.

Help! I Burnt my Le Creuset!
almost fill the pot with water. bring to a boil for 10 minutes or so. most of the problem is sugar. should come off scraping with a plastic spatula.
st.elmo,indianapolis, substitute
i really don't think this guy has a clue about the risks implicit in keeping raw beef at 70 degrees F for six weeks. bad idea!!!!!!!!!!!. i hope that room is a walk in reefer.
st.elmo,indianapolis, substitute
every winter i drive through indianapolis on my way westward for the ski season. i have eaten
at st.elmo's steak house every year for the past 5 years (going out and coming back to baltimore.) i love the joint. no complaints. but there comes a time when even a devoted
carnivore feels like mixing it up a little bit. so give an old guy some suggestions . money is
no concern----either high or low end. i love good food no matter what the cost.
