Jardiniere or Delfina?

It's my first time going to San Fran in 15 years and I need some help with restaurants. I've got 3 days and on the list so far are:

Ferry Building: Hog Island, Mijtus and Slanted Door (any of these better than the other?)
Orson
A16
Zuni
Canteen
and either Jardiniere or Delfina
also considering Michael Mina and Town Hall

Thoughts?

I could use a little help on breakfast too. All I've got so far is Tartine.

Thanks!

Morimoto or Del Posto for RW lunch?

Morimoto was awful! DO NOT GO! They start with a plain old salad and miso soup... nothing special and then offer either sushi, black cod or angry chicken. I got the cod and my friend got the sushi. The Cod was good but again nothing special. It was cooked in soy sauce and miso I think and served with a couple carrots and mushrooms. The sushi quality was pretty whatever and we were in generall really disappointed. Oh yea, no dessert.

Tons of restaurants on Westwood Blvd. What's good?

Thanks so much for all the recommendations! I've already started on them. I love Sunin and I just tried Shaherzad for lunch. The portions are ridiculous! I had to take half of my food home. The baked rice and lamb dish is amazing. I think its the chef recommendation or something. It's just so flavorful. And the shish kabobs (sp?) were so tender. I also tried this great roasted egg plant dip that was just so rich and wonderful on the fresh bread. Thanks for the tip. This place was great. Keep um coming

Tons of restaurants on Westwood Blvd. What's good?

I was driving down Westwood today from UCLA and I couldn't help but notice how many little places line that street from Wilshire down to Pico. I tried that Lebanese place today on santa monica and loved it. Any more hidden gems on that street? I noticed a lot of middle eastern and italian. Any recommendations?

Jack n' Jills - Santa Monica, Breakfast Recs?

I went to Jack n' Jill's in santa monica today and it was amazing. The service is really what stuck me the most. The people who work there are so nice and really sweet. The food of course was very good and best of all healthy. The food was good but not too heavy. I'm a breakfast lover and I normally go to Jinky's, Snug Harbor, B&P, Urth ect all the time but I really really like Jack n' Jill's. The breakfast panini is really tasty on this great cheesy bread. The omletes are also great. They have really cute little blueberry muffins to start with that go great with their aromatic coffee. My favorite thing today was probably the Savana Strawberry Oatmeal pancakes. They are kinda dense but really have that oatmeal taste. I used to be a fan of the oaty oaty cakes at jinkies and the multigrain pancakes at the firehouse but they don't even compare to these oatmeal pancakes. I'm hooked. Oh and I went at 9:30 and there was no wait at all. There wasn't one until about 10:30. I was almost tempted not to say anything so I could enjoy the peaceful lack of crowds but that wouldn't be very chowhoundly of me so ENJOY!

ISO mochi ice cream other than Mikawaya

It seems nearly impossible to find any other mochi than mikawaya at supermarket or restaurants. I love mochi and I LOVE ice cream so naturally love mochi ice cream but is it possible that you can't put the 2 together without compromise? I'd hate to think that these maybe its not possible to have great mochi and great ice cream together.

With mikawaya's mochi ice cream, I think the ice cream is kinda artifical tasting and just not very good ice cream. And the mochi just isn't as tender and well textured as non-ice cream mochi.

Is this a lost cause?

Taquería Chihuahua closed! ISO similar mexican food westside

La Taquería Chihuahua was my all time favorite mexican place and their building was bought out from underneath them. The story goes that the landlord sold the building without telling them and now its being turned into offices. Sad story. That has been my mexican fix source since I was a kid and now I don't know what to do.

I'm looking for a whole in the wall, simple, authentic, cheap place. No El Cholo style. THANX

Quick dinner in Brentwood

I think you all should ought to know that Taiko is more or less that same as Mishima or Yashima. I don't know exactly what happened... a falling out something but the food is basically the same. Taiko's just a lot more expensive b/c its in Brentwood and the atmosphere is vastly better.

oragasmic brunch

If you are looking for expensive and fancy but really nice atmosphere and experience you should try the hotel bel air but you definately need reservations and make them for the courtyard. i wouldn't call it orgasmic per say but its good (but EXPENSIVE)

BEST french toast?

You've gotta try Junior's the Jewish deli on Westwood Blvd by the Westside Pavillion. They use thick slices of their fresh baked cinnamon bread. Its amazing. I don't like syrup drenched french toast either so this is perfect b/c there is a touch of sugar in the bread so you don't even need syrup if you don't want to. The prices are a little steep, like $14ish i think but the portions are HUGE. enjoy!

Lunch in Torrance

So I've been working in Torrance for a couple of years now and everyday I go out for lunch. I know there are supposed to be great food here but I have not been having any luck and I've gotten so sick of my usual places that I've resorted to bringing brown bag sandwiches for lunch. PLEASE give me some leads! THANX
