Anyone familiar with the Chefman Electric Hot Water Pot?

So that is a good point actually. The auto press button, which can't be used on shabbos, is great. The manual press is just ok. When the pot is full to about 3/4 empty it's ok to bothersome. The difference being good much water is left in the pot, the less water, the more of a pain to pump it out. That said, it's not so much of a pain that I got a new one. Just comparedto the eease of the electric button, it's a pain. All in all, it's totally worth the $35, that's what I think I paid a year ago when I bought mine. If I had to rate it, during the week, 5 stars, shabbos 4. The size is a bit small for my needs, like I mentioned previously, but that's my issue :-). IMHO, still a great deal.

Anyone familiar with the Chefman Electric Hot Water Pot?

I'd say we've had it for about 6 months, or so, and it's left on 24/7. I do descale it about every 2 weeks, and use filtered water. My only gripe is that if my husband and I each have 16 oz cups of tea or coffee, we can only get about 6 cups pumped out. Yes, we could use smaller cups, but we enjoy the 16 oz cups....

Anyone familiar with the Chefman Electric Hot Water Pot?

We have one and it's fine. Water is hot, even with child milk added. Actually, I find the temperature to be hotter than my older model Keurig. The past I really love about it, though it's when you add cold water to boil there are no steam clouds coming out the back. This always caused me to be concerned about a possible stream burn, our ruining my cabinets. Overall, imho, a great buy.

Reviews of Double frying pan kugel pot

I've seen it at The Buzz. I personally didn't think it justified the cost, as all you need to do is flip it onto a plate and then slide it back in to cook on the other side.

Which food products available only in Israel are worthy to bring to the US?

The item I'd most bring back is Biscoff cookies and spreads. They only make 2 kosher runs a year, and both are sent to Israel for distribution. That stuff is amazing. Not exactly Chowhound worthy, but really, really good.

Recourse on the price hikes of chicken prior to a Yom Tov

As of yesterday, Costco in Lawrence was completely sold out of fresh kosher chicken and turkey and the man restocking the beef said they" hoped" to get more in by Wednesday

Chicken Pot Pie Milk Substitute

Thank you, everyone ! I've decided to stick with the chicken broth. The recipe was discussing the depth, creaminess, texture, taste, etc, of using milk/ heavy cream and I was afraid I'd forfeit that

Burritolam - First Impressions

Went tonight on our way backfrom visiting day. Not impressed. Food was edible, but seriously, not great. The burritos weren't any better thsn the OP described. I certainly hope they improve, because right now, it doesn't taste any different than if I had added Ortega seasoning. Disappointed :(

Kosher Biscoff/Speculoos

I spoke with Howie at Gourmet, who called Pasckez while I was there. Currently, the stock they have is past it's due date, and as the whole company goes on vacation forthe next 2 weeks, there will definitely not be any on stores soon. They told Howie, to call back after their vacation and they will be able to give him a better idea when the next kosher run will be, and when Gourmet will get fresh product.

Kosher Biscoff/Speculoos

Had anyone found these recently ? I read on another site that someone found them but they were expired, I was wondering if anyone had seen them, and where. I'd be one happy camper to find them in the NY area. I did read the previous post on here from 08, and I spoke to the company this afternoon. Since the kosher run is only sent to Israel, they have no idea where I might find the kosher product in the US. Any help ??

kosher skittles in israel

Just got them today at Gourmet Glatt, they were nearly $5 a bag, but I had to buy them.... for the kids, of course ;-) They taste exactly how I remember them and that trip down memory lane, I guess, justifies the price.....

Kosher Protein Powder

I actually tried about a half dozen and the one I liked the best was Carnations Sugar Free Instant Breakfast. That's for powder. The ready to drink one I liked the best is Muscle Milk. I'd order my CSFIB on line so I could get the vanilla and strawberry flavors in addition to the chocolate. With some extracts, spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and the like, I had plenty of variety.Good luck !

Potato kugel question

I always freeze extra potato kugels because you never know when you will need 1.....that said, I bake it ¾ of the way before freezing, and when I need it, I add about 1 cup plain water yo the pan, put in my convection oven at 375° for about 2 hours covered. Granted the texture is not the same as fresh, but its different in a good way. A well know rebitzen in my community does this and swears( affirms ?? Lol) by this method.

Rosh HaShanah Simanim Ideas

Not on the cute side but there's a great book called , I think, Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur Secrets. At the back it has like 25 pictures of various simanim used. No recipes, but its a start for you to then decide which ones you'd like to do. I do about 10 different ones, none involving animal heads....lol. my kids love it and its entertaining to say the least. Good luck !!

Best herbal tea in the (kosher) world

I gave up soda 15 months ago and became a HUGE tea drinker. My favorite herbal blends all come from Harney and Sons. Hands down the best blends. If you happen to live in the NY area they have a store in SoHo, on Broome near Broadway. They are extremely patient and amazingly knowledgeable. If not you can call their 800 number and I found them less patient but can direct you to blends you might like. Good luck.

Chocolate tea, which is the best?

I bought Harney and sons. Both their chocolate and Soho blend ( chocolate and coconut).I love both, then again, I am a huge fan of many of their teas. The supervision is widely accepted and their teas are AMAZING.
