Which Lasagne's more common in NZ/OZ?

In NZ they have a great classic cookbook that a lot of kiwis would have grown up with, Edmunds Cook Book - It has all the classic recipes. On a trip back to NZ a few years ago I finally picked up a copy from a bookstore and the lasagne in it is definitely with the béchamel or cheese sauce (White sauce with grated cheddar added at the end). I'm sure you will find that everyone only knows this recipe so would make the American version, I'm sure it will be a hit!

Virginians seeking great lunch near Tower, British Museum

You could do a lot worse than The Museum Tavern, we popped in for a Saturday afternoon ale a few weeks back and were pleasantly surprised. Great service, good selection of ale and the food that was being served looked really good. As far as Tiffinbites, I'm not a big fan of chains, but have eaten at Tiffinbites a few times and have always been impressed.

Where to buy fresh anchovies in London?

Many thanks for all the replies. I checked out Camisa in Soho though was quite small and cramped and all the anchovies were tinned or in Jars. Had more luck at Brindisa at Borough markets, fantastic place.. but maybe not at 12:30 on a Saturday! They did have small plastic containers in the fridge section (£4.95) for lovely white anchovies that were delicious. Am going to finish them off tonight serving some fresh again and some deep fried from a recipe by Sam and Eddie Hart from Market Kitchen, followed by Jamie Oliver's Mushroom risotto.

Montrealers in Finsbury park area for a month--please help!

If you like Italian our local favourite is Il Bacio on Blackstock Rd (Nr Old Arsenal Stadium end). The two original Il Bacio's are in Stokie. Great service and good honest food, we love one of their starters called Carta Musica. Sunday afternoons are real family affairs and the place get's packed but service is never slow. Agree with all other posts, there are so many options in the area, you'll be spoilt for choice. If you get a nice weekend, catch a 4 or 19 to Highbury Barn and go to the famous La Fromagerie pick up some fresh bread, cheese, ham and some fruit from the fruit and veg store a couple of shops up, some drinks and walk across to Highbury Fields (200metres away) and have a lovely picnic in the park.. beautiful..

Where to buy fresh anchovies in London?

Where to buy fresh anchovies in London?

Hi, after after recent trip to Itlay I have fallen in love with fresh anchovies marinated in Lemon juice which are much milder that canned or bottled and was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere in London that would stock them fresh? Thanks.

London - where should I live for eating purposes?

Having lived in the Stoke Newington/Finsbury Park/Highbury areas for the past 7 years I think they have everything you are looking for and are still close to Kings Cross. People are right about transport in Stokie, though there is more than the 73 and it depends on what time you travel as well, so travel into work a little earlier and miss the rush hour. Or live on the Highbury side of Clissold Park (The park is really nice and part of Stokie), then you can catch a bus for 5 min to Manor House and then the Picc Line to Kings cross in 10 min. Look online for local estate agents and email them your requirements and you'll get an idea of what is available. We bought 2 years ago in the area and used David Andrew Estate agents and found them to be really good. Good luck with your decision and as you can see from the replies you have plenty of great options.. enjoy!
