In Jerusalem, go to Hess. It's right downtown, off Ben Yehuda and close to the police station. Best kosher steak you're likely to ever eat. And there's a giant Bernese Mountain Dog who belongs to the owner and comes around looking for attention. Very laid back and casual but great food.

I'm gonna be in New York in a couple weeks and plan to gorge myself on all the kosher food. What I'm really looking for is a great deli with a good pastrami sandwich. Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Haven't been to Paris since I started keeping kosher but New York is amazing. People there don't even realize how lucky they are.

Toronto really isn't great anymore. The best restaurant (Gladstones) has closed as has Unami (a pretty good meat place that was actually decently priced). Now, all we really have is one nice meat place nad one nice dairy place in addition to the pizza and falafel shops. Whenever I go to New York, I'm blown away by all the choice.
Baldwin Street hot dogs, where can I find them?
I like Baldwin St., myself. I get them at the forest Hill Loblaws or the Sobey's at Christie and Davenport. Make sure you go to the kosher section to find them.

I'm in the city on business all the time and it's become my standard place. I take business colleagues and clients tehre and tehy don't even realize it's kosher.

I have a shidduch date next week with a girl in Monsey. Can anyone recommend a good date place? I'm less concerned whether it's milchig or fleishig than if it's able to make a good impression. Price not really an issue. But Chasidim should be able to hold by the hescher.

Upscale Kosher in Toronto
Hello,
I need to be in Toronto for a couple days next week on business. I'd like to take my clients out for a nice dinner but I keep kosher. Can anyone recommend a good kosher palce suitable for a nice business dinner that would make a good impression (e.g. not pizza or falafel)? Though if anyone knows any good quick kosher spots for lunches and snakcs, that would be appreciated too.

Hello everyone:
I currently live in Toronto but have recently been offered an exciting job opportunity in Richmond, Virginia.
It looks like a great city and I know there are a couple Orthodox shuls there but I was wondering about how easy it would be to keep kosher.
If anyone on this board is from Richmond or has spent some time there, if you could please elt me know if you know of a) any kosher restaurants in the city and b) the availability of kosher foods in general, i.e butcher shops, good selection at the grocery stores, etc. that would be much appreciated.

Hess Restaurant in jerusalem
This is my favourite fleishig place in all of Yerushalayim. You're right that it's rather pricey but the steak is terrific. I actually really love the atmosphere. If you go in the warm weather, there's a terrific patio that's very peaceful and the owner has a wonderful massive Bernese Mountain Dog who lives out there and comes by to all the tables looking for bits of meat. He must be the happiest dog in the world. If I had to recommend one restaurant in the country, this is the place.
